This hotel is somewhat aged, and shows it. It is a little run down.
The rooms are of standard size, not cramped like a motel 6 or something. Mine had a refrigerator in it. When I entered, the room was about 55 degrees, but the heater warmed it up to about 70 in less than 10 minutes. It is an older in-the-outside wall type of unit, but was efficient. And worked well on automatic throughout the night. The heater/air conditioner is louder than a modern one, but it had a consistent whirr, not a clanging, so acted more like a white noise. And it is reasonably priced for the Lincoln area, at least through hotwire ($49+service fee and tax $60). And the rooms seemed to be quiet. Didn't hear any noise from the person adjacent.
However, the carpet was stained. Not gross, just stained. The beds are too firm for my liking, and were uncomfortable for me. The shower has a small, 1/2 inch shower head. Didn't know those were still around. The vanity, which is in the room, not the bathroom was about 8 feet wide, with the sink in the middle. However, the lighting was over the last 2-3 feet. So when I shaved, had to turn my head to the side and lean over to get the best view. There is a dimmer switch, so you can shave or whatever with out causing too much inconvenience for others still in bed. And the "breakfast buffet" consists of a small assortment of pastries, fruit cocktail from a can, and coffee and juice. I looked at it, but opted for McD instead.
Okay for one night, but not longer stays. And at 2.5 stars, is overrated. Hot wire doesn't have a 1.5 star, so would go with their 2 star rating instead. 1 star is too low. It is a step above the motel 6, super 8 types of rooms.

We got this hotel through hotwire. It was advertised as a 2 1/2 star hotel but it should be a one star. I was scared because of all the bad reviews on this site; however, once there it wasn't as bad as I read. Besides the tub paint coming off, I would have thought the hotel was fine if I hadn't read the other reviews on here. But I had read them and so I was looking for bad things from the moment I entered the room. It really wasn't that bad but IS NOT a 2 1/2 star hotel.

The competent and enthusiastic staff made up for the oldness of the motel. The bathroom counterspace was larger than average, I had plenty of space for all my stuff. The room was larger than average, and I liked that. The staff was competent, helpful, and had good attitudes. Yes, the air conditioner was noisy, but they always are. The bed was hard, which is good for my back. The motel is like a grand old rich aunt who has fallen on hard times. My stay was satisfactory and I'd stay there again. Ice machine worked every day, the water was hot, and the bathtub was stained, but not dirty.

I got a deal on this through Hotwire, and was severely disappointed, the first and only time that I have been unhappy with a room booked through Hotwire. As others have noted, it is very old and shabby, the room I had was smelly, it had damaged furniture and carpets, and it did not feel safe. I am guessing it is relatively safe, since it is in a reasonably good part of Lincoln, but the hotel was really an eyesore. Also, they are no longer a Best Western. I don't know if the owners no didn't want to pay the franchise fee or if they were stripped of their affiliation, but its not great either way. I do suggest being careful in Lincoln with Hotwire reservations, you really don't want to end up here.

The hotel was easy to find, and the check-in process was simple. We walked into our room and were happy with the first appearance. The hotel is not a new one, but we knew that coming into it. We expected some of the "older" amenities (non-digital thermostat, etc.). We did NOT expect a bathroom with ceiling tile collapsing. The temperature gauge on the shower was broken so it would only come out scalding hot (your skin would blister if you showered). My husband had to tweak the knob until he found the exact spot to allow cold water to flow. Air conditioner worked okay, but the room seemed pretty dusty. The air conditioner kicked up this dust and my son sneezed all night. When we were checking out, we found the airline itineraries for people who had our room in 2006. Needless to say, the cleaning staff does NOT clean. When we told the front desk, they blew us off. The "free breakfast" is standard coffee and dried pastries. If you want cereal, you pay. The pool was drained (empty). The coi pond advertised did not exist (staff told us the fish disappeared and the pond magically dried up three days prior to our arrival). The hotel had potential, but the staff failed to live up to it.
