The warning in the title is a very serious suggestion. The pillows at the Trianon are very flat and hard. They certainly are no match for the high-end TEMPUR-PEDIC bed. The bed must be a promotion with TEMPUR-PEDIC because their literature and a coupon are on the bed when you check in. This was my first time sleeping on a TEMPUR-PEDIC bed. I loved it and slept very well. I like a firm bed. My wife hated it. She prefers a soft bed.
From the moment we walked in and were greeted warmly by Melanie, to the night clerk, Peter, the staff was very friendly and professional. Melanie personally walked us around the hotel to show us different rooms and let us choose ours. Peter, with whom we had several conversations, shared some great insight about local restaurants – which ones to avoid and where the locals go. He was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly knew more about the area than even the best concierge at the fanciest hotels.
Breakfast: You can either walk 5 minutes to your choice of breakfast restaurants or eat at the hotel’s free continental spread. Your only choices here are cold cereal, muffins, bagels, and breads. I had a different muffin each day and each was unbelievably fresh and delicious. You have a choice of blueberry, cranberry, cheese or bran. Of course they also have milk, juices, coffee, and a great selection of teas.
This hotel is two short blocks from 5th so it’s in walking distance to the happening spots – while being quiet and secluded at the same time.
For $10 a day more, you can have a refrigerator in the room. There are no microwave ovens on the property.
Pool was very nice temperature. Small but not crowded at all. We were alone at the pool several times.
Bathroom is big. Great shower with shower DOOR – rare to find at hotels. Most places have those awful plastic curtains. Bathroom vanity had plenty of room and also a night light – another nice touch.
Wireless internet at this hotel works great.
For the price, this place cannot be beat! I am a big fan of the Hampton Inn chain and this hotel was cheaper, cleaner, and offered nicer amenities than any Hampton I have stayed at.
TRIANON HOTEL in Old Naples is the best kept secret in town - just don't forget to pack your own pillow.

We have just returned from Florida and we loved the Trianon. It is a really peaceful haven, very well placed for the shops and restaurants. Although it was busy we often had the pool to ourselves and there was no annoying music blaring out so it was possible to read quietly. We found the breakfasts good--we really didn't want a huge cooked breakfast and although it was self service that was no problem at all. The room was large and well furnished--very clean. It was a little walk to the pier at night but we liked walking off our evening meal! A great find.

We only stayed at this hotel for one night but cannot fault. The hotel is very traditional, colonial not really suited to people with very young children. Breakfast is only Cereal and toast, fresh juice but adaquate for what we needed, to be honest fed up with big American breakfasts by this stage anyway. There is a small courtyard with a pool - very tastefully done and towels provided.
The hotel has an old time feel to it so not suitable for everyone but we loved it.

We stayed at this hotel two years ago and enjoyed it very much. We were a little concerned that standards may have dropped in the meantime but I'm happy to say that the hotel was every bit as pleasant as we remembered.
The lobby is quite beautiful and the general standard of decor (and atmosphere) is very good. The rooms are perhaps not completely modern in design but they are large and the bathrooms spotlessly clean.
The location to my mind is fantastic. It's a short car journey to the beach but 5th Avenue South (all the best shops and dining) and Tin City (more shops, more dining) are both easy walking distance. The surrounding area of Old Naples is a stunning collection of residential properties, meticulously manicured gardens and idyllic beachfront living, all well worth exploring.
Breakfast at the hotel is a selection of cereals, bagels, cream cheese, fruit and coffee etc, taken in the elegant dining dining area or out on the terrace. There is a relaxing pool area and I feel that the whole place represents great value at the rates we paid, which were ?69 ($145) for April 2008 - I note the advertised rates for this period are now higher.
Only complaint? Well, as other reviewers have mentioned - the air conditioning is noisy - or at least it was in our room

The location is ideal for exploring Naples, with Tin City to one side and the bars/restaurants of Fifth Avenue on the other. It is also close to the main 41 highway for easy access to the surrounding area. Despite the central location, it remains very peaceful at night.
The hotel is nicely furnished and the staff are helpful and friendly, particularly Peter and Hanns.
On top of that, car parking was free and there was a complimentary breakfast which was quite unusual for the area.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
