I stayed there last week when I was in town visiting some old friends. The front desk was pleasant and the restaurant staff was great! I loved the food at the Granada Room. Very nice steak house. Yeah, the building is definitely old, and it's not a Sheraton or whatever but the rooms were clean and comfortable and the people were nice. I felt it was a very good value. I'll definitely be staying there again the next time I visit out there.

The Dump!

This hotel was the most disgusting place I have ever been too! The coffee shop had holes in the glass windows and was so dated inside. There was even someone smoking at the bar(Against CA state law)! The rooms were nasty inside. Should be shut down. The food was terrible and a loud compressor ran all night. We were there over Thanksgiving weekend, and the Thanksgiving food was soooooo bbbbbaaaaddddd!!!!! Bad neighborhood and in a bad part of town. Parking lot hadened been paved in 30 years!! I wasn't suprised that there wasn't a back-hoe sitting in the parking lot. It is worth the extra money to stay in one of Palmdale's hotels like the Courtyard Inn by Marriot.
THE BIGGEST DUMP I HAVE EVER VISITED!!!!!!!

Once the place to stay in Lancaster, it's 30 years past it's prime with no renovations in sight. I tried to save money by staying here and it was a mistake. When I opened the door to the room I said "it's not so bad", my wife said "Yes it is." It was 104' or so when we checked in and the room had not been accessed in a while and was about 90' or so when we entered. The central air was disconnected in place of the fabulous "wall unit" that was shut-off. The room didn't get cool the first night and it took 36 hours for the air conditioning to overcome the heat. Pealing paint and cracks in the bathroom, and a toilet seat you had to hold up by hand when you urinated because the toilet was built too far under a counter and would not open all the way. I was also greeted with two channels of hardcore porn on the TV. Not a problem for me but could have been a hard to explain surprise for kids. Spend whatever you have must to avoid this place.

It was the most disgusting place we have ever stayed!! The website picture looked nothing like the room we had!! I needed to book a room that slept 2 adults and 2 children. I was told they were "sold out" of rooms with 2 beds. I upgraded to the "Apartmet" which I was assured would sleep 4. I was charged $139.00 Upon our arrival I was told it was just a king bed and a couch. It was a queen bed and they had to provide us with cots. The smell was overwhelming!! There were dead bugs on the floor in the bathroom. We would have found a different hotel, but we were late for a family party and it was only one night!! How bad could it be?? Bad!!! The front desk called us at 11:50 at night (while kids were sleeping) and told us there was a problem with our window and offered to move us to a different room. At midnight? Apparently someone in the back alley had thrown a rock through the window while we were out. We didn't move because I'm sure the other room wouldn't have been any better. We slept freezing and fearing any noise from the alley. We left early the next morning without showering there...too gross!! I came home and washed everything that we had brought into the room with us and everybody showered!! Don't stay at the Desert Inn!!! We will never set foot there again!!

Don't believe the brochure or any glorifying reviews. Rooms smell bad. Maintenance seemingly non existant. Jacuzzi not working with sign posted by State of California. Pool filthy came out with dirt in my swimsuit. Surroundings really bad area with prostitutes obvious in area. Definitely not a place to take your children. Train passes frequently with associated whistles all night. Consensus of opinion of party DUMP.
