Watch out for the fire doors

Stayed for a conference and was disappointed. Went up to room at 5.20 pm. Other guests were complaining as their rooms were not ready. On way to room held open fire door to pull trolley case through and snagged trousers on worn door. Spent most of stay requesting that someone come up to look at the poor state of the fire door - would definately not hold back a fire! When left the following day still no-one had looked at the door.
Had to queue for coffee, meals, toilets. Meals adequate. Staff not helpful.
Would definately not go back.
Even views spoilt by diggers constructing golf course.

Stayed with a classic car weekend with over 200 partcipants. Service was excellent. Food very good for bulk catering. The public rooms and grounds are spectacular. The standard hotel bedrooms are of a basic modern hotel style but clean and large enough and more than adequate with all the expected facilities. The standard bedrooms are in an attached annex and so a little walk to the restaurant and main hotel area - but it helps to walk off your dinner so this was no problem. The swimming pool and leisure facilitles are all adequate but a little like a municipal swimming pool (without the screaming and peeing kids!)

Stayed at the hotel for two nights as part of a 250 person classic car group. The hotel has magnificent public rooms. The food over the weekend was excellent. They coped well catering for 250 people. The staff were very friendly and helpful. An excellent venue for such a weekend, and they even let us park on the grass!

The main hotel is fantastic, but .. you then are directed to a 1970's concrete block which is your accommodation , rooms are clean but rest of the hotel is shabby and stained .
There was a wedding party the day day we stayed and the restaurant didn't open until 7 and we had a toddler, our meal arrived 1.5 hours after ordering and was very poor the worst was when it did arrive the 3 year old's meal was on a red hot plate ....
I would not recommend thus hotel to anyone even the reception staff were embarrassed.
Try a farm bed and breakfast much nicer.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a classic car group. The service and food was first class, the staff very helpful and catered well for our large group (over 200). The public rooms are lovely and the bedrooms very good. An all round good experience
