Booked a suite room which was excellent. Nice, quiet property overlooking the sea with pool and kid's pool with a short walk down to the beach (no hotel service there - pay extra for sunbeds/parasols). Platja D'Aro is a 30 min walk along the coast up and down stairs with brilliant views or a 15 min stroll along the road (sidewalk to the hotel) with much better options for lunch or dinner. (They even charged our 3 yr old $ 30 for lunch). Ideal if somebody wants to combine a quiet hotel with the busy (nite)life of Platja D'Aro.

We thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful hotel on the ocean.
We had flown into Barcelona to take a cruise, and decided to add a week on the front end travelling up the coast by car. The location
was terrific- 2 blocks away from town where all of the restaurants/nightlife are. It has a gorgeous swimming pool overlooking the ocean and offers a beautiful breakfast spread each morning-not a continental breakfast, but a full breakfast. The rooms have minimal furniture- It is all about the view here. It is very romantic. I would definitely reccommend it to anyone in need of sheer relaxation or a romantic experience.

We stayed here for one night and I'm really glad it was only one night. The first room we were given was so awful I immediately went back to reception to change it. Apparently there is a charge of €25 extra for a sea view room. I opted for a room looking out on the carpark which was bigger but it didn't smell very good. Also, the drapes and bedding are very faded. Bed is really small and not that comfortable.
The bathroom was well stocked though.
Probably the only saving grace for this hotel is the view and pool. The pool is large and dive friendly. Also, you can access the beach from here on two sides.
We were going to eat in the restaurant that evening, but the smell was so bad I couldn't face it and we reluctantly went back into town. Town is at least at 25 min walk, so really you have to drive.
There is a €7 charge per day for parking, which I think is awful. There is also a €20 deposit charge PER towel.
To my mind this is definitely not a 4 star hotel.. just about a 3.
I read in other reviews that the breakfast was no good. I have to say that I didn't think it was all that bad. The cereals were ultra sweet though.
Maybe ok for a 1 nighter, but i wouldn't like to spend any more time here.

My partner and I stayed at the Silken Park Hotel in February 2007 as part of a 4-day Costa Brava tour for my birthday.
The hotel is situated in a good location with an amazing view. The walk into Platja d'Aro takes around 15-20 minutes but entails crossing some busy roads. Our stay there was a pleasant but quiet one and we found all the staff very helpful. We also enquired what time the restuarant opened, only to be told "March"!
Positives: clean, quiet, good service, comfortable rooms
Negatives: location may not be for everyone, parking surcharge (car is the only viable option to get to the hotel)

This is a very good hotel placed in a great location on top of a headland with lovely sea breezes and views. It is about a 25 min walk into Platja D Aro. There is a very nice beach down the steps from the hotel.
It was very relaxing sitting on the patio area overlooking the beach.
There is a nice pool area, the room we had had a side sea view and was very clean, spacious and comfortable.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Excellent breakfast. We were dissapointed with the evening meal we had in the restaurant, although very nice, the portion size was inadequate and expensive as were the drink prices.
The overall cost we paid for 2 nights was expensive for the time of year but if I saw any offers with great rates we would certainly go back.
