i went paris for my wedding anniversary at 10.08.2007 and i booked for grand haussmann nearly 3 months ago. i needed a facsimile of my reservation and the hotel told me that they send me facsmile if i pay for 1 night, so i paid for 1 night about a month before my arrival. i get paris at night and get hotel about 11pm, the receptionist told me that there is no room but they reserved a room for me at richmond oprea which is close to grand haussmann. i told i've already paid for the room and i want to see the manager but he's not at the hotel... so i want my money back and go to another hotel but receptionist told me he can not refund only manager can so he said "come tomorrow morning or go to richmond opera".. the attitude was very rude but at that hour we bound to go the other hotel... if you think to make a reservation for that hotel think twice...the richmond opera was ok go there instead of grand haussmann...

My fiance and i checked into this hotel in June. I was in Paris for three weeks for work before moving on to Germany for two weeks holiday.
I was not impressed. The website was quite mis representative of the hotel. There wasn't anything "grand" about it at all, except maybe the breakfast.
The room had no facilities - not even the ability to make coffee or tea. Of all the hotels we stayed in over the next 5 weeks this was the worst and paradoxically the most expensive.
After two nights we told them we would be leaving early.
When we checked out after the third night they charged us for the 4th night and a commission for the rest of the booked stay. Over 300 Euro just to leave the place!
Won't be going back.

I booked the Haussman for 9 nights, 4 at the beginning of my trip and 5 at the end, through a internet travel sight. My reservation was for a SUPERIOR room at a very reasonable rate. When I arrived they told me they did not have a room for me, but I could stay at their sister hotel across the street, the Hotel Richmond. They told me all their rooms were the same and they had no superior rooms.
When I returned at the end of my trip, I was given a small room at the Haussman. When I asked to see a superior room, I was told that for the price I was paying I should be happy with the room I was in. They had no intention of honoring the reservation made 6 weeks in advance, since they had since booked the rooms for higher prices. After a lenghtly discussion, I was moved to a larger room for the last 4 nights.
Too bad, because this hotel is in a great location near the opera house and department stores. Easy to get to and from the airport on the Roisseybus. There are also several metro stops nearby. It is within easy walking distance of most sights. BUT beware, they will not honor a bargain you may find on the internet. They did honor the price, but not the superior classification even though I was staying 9 nights at their hotel.
