My husband and I stayed 2 nights at this hotel. We paid about $130 per night and stayed in Room 506.
The hotel is located about a 3 minutes walk from the Sygrou Fix Metro station. We didn't explore the neighorhood much while we were there as we tended to just hop on the Metro and go North one stop to the Acropolis station and the nearby Plaka, but we always felt safe returning to our hotel at night. The hotel has a bar and restaurant inside, but we rarely saw anyone at either or them. Not to say that they weren't nice... we had dinner at the restaurant one night (we were just too tired to go back out!) and we found the food to be reasonably priced and good. There are 2 computers available for guest use of the internet, but you have to buy a 1 hour prepaid card... and I forget how much it was... They also provide ice buckets and an ice machine. If you've ever been to Europe before... you know that ice isn't as free flowing as in the US, so we appreciated that!
The staff was very friendly and spoke English. They were happy to answer our questions and were quick and curteous upon check in and check out.
Our room was one of the biggest we've seen in Europe. That's not to say that it was big... just larger than the typical Athens room. It included a TV, mini bar/fridge, hair dryer, etc. We also had a balcony, but it was facing a rather ugly building and busy street, so we never used it. The bathroom was an OK size. A little dated in style, but very clean. AC worked fine and the beds were fine as well. The room was clean and nice. There was a bit of noise from the road at times, but we never felt the need to use the earplugs we brought with us because it was never so bad as to be disruptive.
Breakfast was included with the price of our room and we were impressed with it. It offered toast, sweet breads, mini pancakes (on one morning), fruits, eggs, sausage, beans, bacon, cereal, yogurt, juices, coffee, tea, and some meats and cheeses. The people that work the restaurant/dining room were always very friendly.
In short, we were very happy with the Acropolis Select Hotel and would recommend it to anyone needing to stay in Athens!

We spent 4 nights at this hotel in April of 2008. We were very happy with everything. The front desk people were exceptionally friendly, the room was quite nice with a nice balcony. Breakfast was very good. It is rated 3 star and the price was very moderate so we were a little concerned that it would be sub-standard but were very surprised at the quality.
We walked to the Plaka every day and to the Metro. So easy.
I would definitely stay there again if we go back to Athens.
