This is a really stylish hotel tucked away being the Rathaus (town hall) in central Vienna. We stayed here for two nights on honeymoon and were really really pleased with it. Firstly, the room was very spacious, with a very comfortable bed and great shower. The room and the linen were all super-clean. The rooms are all named for different Austrian wine-producers and the mini-bar was stocked with a selection of that producer's bottles. While a bit of a gimmick, we hardly minded and it was good to have something other than the usual mini-bar fare of tepid coke to resort to. The breakfast spread was huge and extremely good. The hotel's website describes it as wine-themed, which might be going a bit to far but the food was plentiful and tasty. The staff were helpful and made restaurant recommendations & bookings for us in nearby places. We'll definitely look to go back here next time we're in Vienna.

Just returned from my visit to Vienna where I had the opportunity to "sample" three hotels. The first one (where I use to stay when visiting Vienna for leisure) was Pension Pertschy - unbeatable location; the second one (Austria Trend Hotel Savoyen) was a huge business hotel but conveniently located when arriving from the airport by S-Bahn and the third one was Rathaus Wein & Design. The hotel is located in the 8th discrict (between Josefstadt and Neubau). This is not exactly next to the Stephansdom but it takes only about 15/20 Minutes to walk...and it is a very nice walk, passing three nice parks (Rathauspark, Volksgarten and Hofgarten). As the hotel has no fitness equipment you can also go jogging in the park. Apart from that the location is quite interesting, not a tourist-only zone. Walking distance to Spittelberg and the Museums Quartier. Rooms are large, clean and provide for all you need (Broadband for free) and the rates are more than ok compared to town average. As the hotel is all about Austrian wine each room is dedicated to one particular winemaker which is also reflected in the content of the minibar. They also have a nice wine bar next to the lobby where you can taste wine (at reasonable prices). The breakfast (EUR 13) is a hit! Not the usuall ready made hotel fare but individual tasty stuff. And the choices are endless. The staff is very courteous. However, I had a little incident with a taxi reservation. They use to work with a particular company (which offers discounted rates to hotel guests) but I wanted to try a different taxi. When ready to go the cab did not show up and I got a little bit stressed. Apparently, there was some kind of misunderstanding but the reception quickly solved the problem. In summery, I was positively surprised and can definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't mind staying a short walk away from the city centre.

Spent 5 nights at the Rathaus when sightseeing in Vienna. Travelling with 3 small children is always potentially difficult, but The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful and there is a great friendly family athmosphere in the hotel. Facilities are excellent, with superb showers and everything spotlessly clean. Breakfasts have been mentioned in several reviews and are even better than we expected! We also got great advice from staff about local attractions and took a wonderful day trip to the town of Semmering to see some real snow! Hotel location is super, a few minutes walk from the Rathaus Christmas market and the wonderful Museums and shopping streets and superb public transport links. All in all a wonderful hotel in a beautiful city, we would certainly go back again and highly recommend the Rathaus to other visitors! especially towards

We loved this hotel and all its staff. They are professional, thoughtful and efficient and seem to thoroughly love what they do! My husband and I have travelled all over Europe for years and I think that this is the first time that we did not even check out other options once there- because we were thoroughly pleased and look forward to returning to this property when we return to Vienna! Martine, Elizabeth (?) and the gentleman at the front reception (excuse my memory lapse re: names) were wonderful and did all they could right from our arrival to make it such a lovely Thanksgiving weekend (and special birthday celebration)!! The breakfast is wonderful - something for everyone - and then some!! The lovely ladies in the breakfast room are also very charming - they could not have been more attentive!! We had looked forward to our stay at this hotel for over a year, since we read about it in various food/wine magazines and a few New York City publications and it definitely lived up to our expectations. What a great concept and staff. We only wished we had more time so that we could have checked out their other property and restaurant in Salzburg!
