I wouldn't rave about this place - except for it's location. You could walk practically anywhere - and we did. I'ts a very short distance form the Champs-Elysee where it all happens. 15 minute walk through the Tulieries Gardens to the Louvre and maybe a 20-30 minute walk in the opposite direction along the river to the Eiffel Tower. Everything was at your fingertips, and even though the Champs-Elysee is at the end of the street, in the opposite direction, there are so many cafes, patissieries, bars, shops and not-so-well known art galleries tucked away in the streets. It was fantastic in this respect. The room - not so great. It was very small - very dark - and the walls were soft!! Yes, soft!!
They were a spongy fabric rather than hardboard. I guess it made it warmer but cringed at the thought of the moisture and bacteria they might be soaking up. I made sure I wore my shoes all the time as I honestly did NOT want to put my feet directly onto the carpet. The hotel had a small spiral staircase and an elevator big enough for one. It actually more resembled a cupboard. The breakfast room was in the basement with no natural light, but at least the coffee and croissants were fresh. The bathroom was clean, marble but very cramped. It was more like a hallway with no room to swing the proverbial cat !!
Not sure if I would choose it again. It was staffed 24 hours and everyone could speak English which was helpful.

Elysee Park has got a great, central location! Room we stayed was small basic with no balcony and facing back of the building (no view), but clean and warm. Small tv. Warm bathroom with bathtube, but very small. Reception was open 24 hours, staff ok, spoke english.
If you want to walk nearly everywhere in Paris, this location is good!

We stayed at Elysee Park in December of 2006. Choose the hotel based upon proximity to the Metro (2 blocks away from the FDR station on the Champs Elysees), overall location (1 block from Champs Elysees), and price (about 75 Euros a night). The rooms are small by American standards, but were very clean, and had a full sized bathroom. The staff, typical of most French we met, were very friendly and quite forgiving of our massacring their language. The continental breakfast is simple; if you fancy something more decedent there is an excellent pastry store just across the street as well as countless restaurants and café’s in the immediate area. I would recommend Elysee Park for singles or couples who want a decent room in an exciting neighborhood to come home to after touring the city.

This hotel claims to have three stars. Although I know that the star-rating in Paris doesn't correspond to actual quality of the hotel (rather than services) I felt short-changed and duped.
The travel agent had recommended a cheaper two-star hotel in Montparnasse. The recommended one (which we had a quick glance at while taking walking there) seemed way better than Elysee Park which we ended up in. I wish I had followed the travel agent's advice..
The room in Elysee Park was small and uncomfortable. Dank and untidy carpet along with brown foot rot infested shower curtain made staying in the room unpleasant. After we demanded the shower curtain to be changed they brought another one with only slightly less mould growing on it. Disgusting!
The breakfast was minimal and was served with indifference. We ended having our breakfasts in the nearby cafés - which the neighbourhood luckily had plenty of.
The hotel had (supposedly) internet-connected PC which wasn't working. I didn't bother to try it out as I had my own trusty PDA with GPRS connectivity with me. :)
The only good thing about the hotel was the location, which - then again - was excellent. It is right next to Champs-Elysées somewhat in the middle between Concorde and Arc de Triomphe.
When our friends ask how was the hotel, we usuall snap back that it was "right next to Champs-Elysées" and stay quiet about the details. :-)
