My wife and I along with two friends stayed for two nights last week. We pre-paid for the rooms at a cost of ?95 per room per night. The staff were excellent, efficient and at least one person on duty was English speaking. Valet car parking was ?20 per day which in my experience is about average for a city center hotel.
The room was large (about the same size as a typical up-scale American hotel) with usable desk space for working on and two electrical outlets at table height for laptop and mobile phone (for example). The hotel doesn't provide Ethernet connection to the Internet but does offer WiFi through either T-Mobile or Vodafone (I forget which) at either ?12 or ?15 for 24 hours. This was one of the few complaints I had regarding the hotel, while this appears to be the typical pricing in European hotels I find it irritating that luxury hotels continue to charge what I consider to be an excessive amount. The WiFi did provide a good signal in the room. There was cable (or Sky) television with (I believe) two English speaking channels; CNN and BBC Worldnews.
While the public rooms (lobby, stairways, restaurant) appeared a little tired the bedrooms themselves were in excellent condition. We had booked a "Standard" room and either we were upgraded to a "Superior" room or the Standard room is tremendous value. The furnishings in the bedroom were all new and in excellent condition. The bathroom was extremely large (by American standards) with a full size bath containing a shower, toilet, bidet and sink with ample counter space and hair dryer. While the bathroom fixtures were new the design was retro 1920s or 1930s giving it a classic look.
We only eat breakfast at the hotel so I cannot comment on the restaurant or bar. The breakfast was better than average; buffet style with a typical selection of cold meats, bacon sausage and bacon, a cheese selection and breads including toast making facilities.
I thought the hotel location was very satisfactory. It was about a ten minute walk to the "Old Town", fifteen minutes to the symphony and slightly less than twenty minutes to the Opera House. The walk into town was along a broad boulevard with high end shops, it always had many pedestrians on it and felt very safe (although on the first afternoon there was a body on the street under our window, I think it was an accident rather than violence).
Overall an excellent hotel and one I would unreservedly recommend.

From the moment we arrived this hotel felt good and we weren't to be disappointed. Room large and high ceilings lovely balconies and bathroom and shower excellent. Bed large and very comfortable. Room 241 a deluxe corner room at back corner of hotel and really quiet given central location. Hotel in ecellent location with super shopping, restaurants and yet the real life of Palermo close by. The area had a wonderful feel to it. The staff in the hotel were friendly, efficient and extremely helpful. Food in hotel restaurant very good but alcohol pricey, service and surroundings were very good. Breakfast very adequate with good selection of hot and cold dishes and very good service. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a very good 4-star hotel in a central location at a reasonable price. Had absolutely no complaints and would certainly go back and hope to soon!

Charming is the best word to describe this lovely old word property found on a cozy block of Via Liberta Palermos top shopping St. TO compare to US it would be like being located on Wisconsin ave in Georgetown in Dc or Newbury St in Boston. A summary review:
Rooms: Quite large for Europe. Totallt renovated in 2 years. Fixtures, carpet, paint the works. TV with CNN for those that need their English. Comfortable beds and fridge w/ mini bar
Bathrooms are lovely w seperate "rain" shower and Tub. Marble all over. Double vanity w/ plenty of space. Truly top knotch.
Common Areas: Where the hotel really stands out. Impressive crystal everywhere. A truley beautiful breakfast room where the breakfast included is one of the best you will ever have. Full breakfast from meats cheeses, rolls, eggs, cereal, fresh juices you name it. The room is a true classic very elegat. The hotel resturant is also quite the spot with piano bar playing music from Morricone films to As time goes By quite romantic. A lovely park abounds right outside the hotel.
Service: Valet came out right away to help w/ bags. The staff was wonderful calling to make sure are dinner reservations were still on. (Feb is slow season in sicily and some places are closed at least 1 night a week)
Conclusion: With the renovation complete I'd say this is a top 5 hotel in Palermo. With some great deals available you will not regret your stay at Exclesior!

Regresaremos.
