First impressions of the hotel were good. Plenty of secure parking.
The check in process could have been better as my previously confirmed room was not on the computer and I had a vision of it turning into a 'computer says no' moment but it was soon sorted out and I was given my key card.
On the whole the room was fairly large and well presented with all the expected amenities. Overall the bathroom was clean but was let down a little by the state of the rubber bath mat that should have been thrown out years ago.
The evening meal in the restaurant was excellent, very tasty, good quality and served with a smile by pleasant staff.
Unfortunatley the same could not have been said for breakfast. The fresh fruit salad was the only highlight. I would suggest that one self service toaster for the whole hotel is far from adequate and after waiting in a queue for 10 minutes I gave up and opted for bread instead. The hot food was served by an uniterested, rather rude female and the bacon wasn't hot enough to melt the butter on the bread. It was a bit disappointing after such a good evening meal. Perhaps I just caught them on an off day.
Wi-Fi internet accessis available free of charge in all public areas which is okay but it would be nice to have this extended to include the bedrooms.
Overall I would stay again when I am in the area as it provides everything you need in a hotel when on business.

Not particularly impressed for what the hotel is charging for rates and in the restaurant. This is a business-oriented hotel and shows it, worn. Apparently undergoing renovation. Front desk assistance, bare minimum, not particularly helpful in answering questions--we had a simple one about placing a toll-free call from the room and staff was snippy. The room had newer furniture, but there were screw holes in the walls where they removed the old furniture, with fading on the wallpaper. Lamps, old. Wall sockets, no cover plate. Beds ok. No sign of housekeeping anywhere, saw a used room service tray in the hall for 24 hours, finally got sick of it and took it down to the restaurant. Service in the restaurant -- spotty at best, despite the *exorbitant * prices. We first had a female server who apparently couldn't wait to get off her shift, because after seeing her only twice--to seat us (no maitre'd) and to take our order, she vanished. My wife ordered her own beverage and server did not offer a beverage service to my children or myself. We had to ask. Very rushed and rude. The second server was nice, brought us the beverages and opened the wine. He also brought us the dinner. The third server checked up on us and after waiting forever, finally took our plates. Waited again for our dessert order; then again to have it delivered. The restaurant was vacant except for one other table ! The fitness area was ok, the pool ok, Ireland requires a swimming cap unless you want to pay 4 euros for one.

I was quite surprised with the hotel after reading previous reviews. I stayed for two nights with friends and found the staff friendly and helpful. There was an overall good atmosphere in the hotel with a newly refurbished bar and restaurant both worthy of a four star rating. Rooms were modern and spacious and we found it quite easy to make it in and out of the city based on the information provided by various staff members.

1) staff rude completely useless apart from one lady in the restaurant who was nice but considering the price of the meal she should be! Wouldn't mind the hotel being a bit rubbish if staff could make an effort
2) first room no toilet seat, lights didn't work- phoned desk who asked us to go to desk and then sent us to a different room
3) new room was some kind of staff room/store room but very large. Here the tv didn't work, lights didn't work, all sorts of random stuff stored in cupboard but had give up by this point as tired from travelling and only short break, spent about half an hour in reception on internet looking for a new hotel only to find they were all booked.
My advice to anyone visiting Dublin is to stay in the centre, it is really not worth paying less because you spend money and more importantly time on the public transport. And if you don't mind being outside the city still don't stay in this hotel.

Having found out only by chance that the hotel had changed hands to Brennon Hotel group - we arrived to find the hotel having a major renovation - again not being officialy informed. The main bar and resturant were closed, the main toilets sometimes out of action and no heating in the main foyer Unfortunately as a group of 40 (junior football team) we were not in a position to turn around and depart. We then had to argue the special package prices we promised by the former owners. Over the weekend it was obvious that they did not want a youth group in the hotel with most of the staff being quite unfriendly. On a possitive side the food was OK and the majority of the rooms were good - even if the noise of the motorway outside woke you up in the morning. I understand the hotel group have high standards but they will have to work very hard at the Green Isle to acheive this.
