Stayed at the Catalonia Moratin for 4 nights in July. The hotel is in a perfect location, 5 mins from nearest metro and just around the corner from Plaza Santa Ana, Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor. Hotel very modern & clean, staff friendly & efficent. Air conditioned room very welcome after Madrid heat. Excellent value, would recommend.

Got cheap Easyjet flights and booked this reasonably priced 4* hotel via Expedia - all went very well. The hotel was excellent quality, breakfast was superb and location was a short walk to almost anywhere. Lots of good bars, restaurants and shops nearby as well. Buy a metrobus pass if you need one. Used metro rather than go to the expense of transfers and it was unbelievably easy! All in all a good trip - can't wait to go again.

can't review because despite booking in advance, on arrival apparently some rooms were closed and we redirected to another hotel in chain - they were apologetic and paid for taxi and the other hotel was fine.....but disappointing that a booking didn't appear to guarantee a room!

This is a nice hotel - very easy to get to by the underground. It was very quite considering it faces out on to a busy street. The staff were very pleasent and courteous. Breakfast was very good although the dining room is a bit cramped. It is a perfect location from which to visit all the major sites. One word of warning - nothing to do with the hotel. If you are travelling by underground from the airport, hold onto to you valuables very tightly. Our two lady companions both lost their purses to pickpockets. These people are very skilful and seem to specifically target new arrivals coming from the airport. Other wiise the city itself feels very safe and friendly.
