We were only staying one night so i wasn't too bothered i just wanted a good nights sleep, their is a car park which is ok & floodlit at night & you get a permit ticket once you've checked in, while i was there the lift seemed to be working in an erratic manner- one minute ok & no response the next which prompted me to take the stairs, on taking the stairs i found the red carpet to be threadbare in places with black tape all over it which looked terrible, you would have at least thought they could have used red tape which at least would have looked better, from the outside the hotel looks like an ugly 1960's concrete office block & not attractive at all,
The room we had was small & just outside the window was the M56 motorway which was noisy but the windows are double glazed so it's not too bad, the room was clean & tea & coffee available & the bed was fairly comfortable, the reception area is ok if looking a little bit dated in places, there is a bar & lounge area with a restaurant & two pool tables which is not a bad place to chill out, the atmosphere was very friendly, be careful of the internet access it costs ?1 for about 12 mins but when i went on it was taking ages to find sites so i asked for my money back which i got with no argument, to sum up this place is ok for a one night stay if your flying out next day or a stopover but i would not recommend it for any longer.

This hotel is dark and depressing. The room was quite small and the bathroom not totally clean. The shower worked well but it was a high step to get out of the tub - a potential problem for an older person.
Upon exiting the elevator on the room floor, the door out to the corridor was painted white and unmarked so I had to ask a couple of folks how to get to the rooms.
The lobby bar is pleasant and there is a restaurant I did not try. WiFi is only availabale in the lobby. The TV is old and there are only a few channels available.
I only stayed one night to catch a plane to the airport. I would not recommend this hotel for a longer stay.

My partner and I are actually sitting in the hotel as I type this in their WiFi area in the main lobby. It's after 1pm and our room's currently being serviced for our second night's stay and the cleaner is buzzing about me with her vaccum....yes, it's nearly 2pm!!
My partner has just gone to the bar for a drink, which doesn't open until 3pm (probably when the cleaner's changed uniform into her barmaids outfit!) so was given a glass of tap water...which isnt transparent...its white and cloudy!
Last night, we both had a shower in luke warm water after waiting 15-minutes to be acknowledged at reception. When asked if we wanted a smoking or non-smoking room (?), I didnt realise that by requesting a 'non', we'd be placed at the front of the hotel perched above the main road. Secondary glazing isnt that great!
We're due to check out tomorrow, but we'll be leaving tonight. First time in Manchester and this hotel wasted it. Having said that, the locals seem really nice, but the hotel staff are clearly from somewhere outside of Manchester.

This is a terrible hotel. It may be cheap and you get a free bus transfer to the airport but all i expect in any hotel is to have a clean room! The bed clothes where not clean the coffee cups were not clean and the bathroom had all limscale in the bath. I always have trouble with Britannia hotels and even though I give them another go thinking the experience is a one off i always get dissapointed! Its ?40 a night but trust me sleep at the airport if you cannot find an alternative becasue you will be dissapointed here
