What a lovelly hotel this is, we had booked a deluxe room and were very lucky to be upgraded to the junior suite, which had so much space (plenty of room for all of the shopping bags). The bathroom was lovely, and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is in a sensational location, just a couple of minutes from St Germain des Pres, Les Deux Magots and Cafe de Flore; with the Seine just a minute or so in the other direction. Best of all Laduree is just across the street...so we were able to have macaroons every afternoon!!!!!!!!!!! The Metro is also very close, although we didnt use it often. I would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed at La Villa Saint-Germain three times now and wilst I have stayed in other places near by - I really do love this place. It's comfy beds, uncomplicated design and fantastic location in St. Germain
The interiors are a modern take on the understated but in lovely fabrics - think velvets, cord and leather - all in chocolates, creams and dark reds. I have even copied the curtains and have them in my bedroom at home. The bathrooms are smart but in typical Parisian style so very tiny you have to take turns.
The little breakfast room in basement is bright and the bread fresh and good, as is the coffee. The bar on the ground floor good for a late night cap.
In the local area there are great cafe's to while away the hours, good restuarants, art galleries and great shopping from Louis Vuitton, Sonia Rykiel to Paul & Joe, Agnes B and lots of independant shops. Metro is less than 2 mins away
The front desk staff are polite and make you welcome on check in - they always tell me I need more practice at my french, which I do! Once the receptionist told me she was going to quizz me from the morning's paper - she was joking, I was scared.
This is a lovely find - not at the top end of the market but its great nether the less.

My girlfriend and I stayed for three nights and were upgraded from a Deluxe room to a Suite on the 5th floor. Clean, modern, and an extremely friendly staff all made our stay most pleasant. It was also surprisingly quiet for Paris. Our room had a few skylights which helped brighten up the gray January days. Front desk staff extremely helpful and spoke English. Thumbs up. We'll stay here again.

My wife and I have just returned from two days celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary in Paris. We took the Eurostar service from the new St. Pancras terminal and found the journey simple, fast and so much better than flying.
We had originally booked another hotel in an area close to Les Halles, but having been put off by negative reports on the neighbourhood decided to look for somewhere in St. Germain des Pres.
Leaving it to the last minute (just over a day before departure) our options were slightly reduced and after much internet searching we found that La Villa St. Germain could offer us a superior room at a reduced price of € 230 (regularly € 285).
We happily booked this and are we glad that we did.
I had requested that they give us the best room at the price quoted because it was a special occasion and on arrival the charming receptionist showed us to a junior suite (normal quoted price € 445) which she said that they would like us to have for our wedding anniversary - for the € 230 they had quoted.
Our rooms (longe and bedroom) were decorated in creams and browns and situated on the first floor with a double aspect looking out onto the rue Bonaparte and the lovely rue Jacob. Large by Parisian standards with ample storage space, smallish bathroom with tiny bath but extremely strong power shower. There were a good selection of toiletries etc, large fluffy towels and massive bath robes.
There was a safe for valuable and the double glazing made the room both quiet and warm - it was very cold in Paris but with clear blue skies and sunshine.
The hotel is situated right in the heart of this buzzy area in the fashionable 6th arrondissement and the nearest metro was a 5 minute walk away. 10 minutes walk to the Seine and about 20 minutes to La Musee D'Orsay.
Lots of interesting shops and here are two eating tips. The hotel web site recommends the Bistro de Paris in the rue de Lille (about 8 minutes walk away) and we found the food, prices and service excellent in a traditional setting.
We didn't eat breakfast at the hotel as we usually find this over priced, so we found an excellent artisan boulangerie Eric Kayser at the rue de Bac about 10 minutes walk away. Wonderful cakes, bread and pastries and great for a coffee & croissant for € 2.50.
In summary,Trip Advisor reports of La Villa St. Germain have been patchy and we can't comment on the 'more ordinary rooms' although we did peek into a couple that were being cleaned and they looked fine. All we can report is a wonderful place to stay for a special occasion, very comfortable, ideally situated and with friendly, helpful staff without exception.
