Fantastic hotel in a central location. I stayed here for 4 nights with my boyfriend, and we got upgraded to the suite! Also included were travel cards valid for the whole stay. The breakfast was nice, usual type of hot and cold choices. The view at the back of the hotel is not great but it's noisy at the front at night. Be wary of the cover charge they want you to pay for the minibar etc, so we just said we wouldn't use it. I would definately stay here again.

Have just returned from a weekend in Prague and stayed at the Hotel Jalta. We booked this hotel as only in Prague for two nights and wanted to be in a central location. The hotel was ideally situated for sight seeing and as Prague is quite a compact city, most places of interest were within walking distance.
The room was lovely and had great views of Wenceles Square. The bed was very comfy with big squishy pillows. Bathroom was excellent, very clean and lovely L'Occitane products - ca favourite of mine ! The website we had booked with had included a free bottle of champayne which was waiting for us.
Breakfast was included in our rate. It comprised of the usual cereals, fruit, breads and some hot choices. Didn't go with the hot selection but the rest you couldn't really go wrong with. We also had dinner on one evening in Hot, the hotel restaurant. Meal was good - I had pasta and my husband had steak. Both were hot and tasty. Service was excellent.
We had a lovely few days in Prague and would recommend this hotel without a doubt espically if you want to stay central. I'd also recommend pre booking your taxi. We did this and the service was excellent. Flight was delayed by an hour and they were still waiting for us. Driver gave us lots info and they included a free walking tour of Prague which we did. It included all the main places of interest. Price was very reasonable and they arrived in good time to take us back to Prague airport.

Ups and downs

This is the second time that I've been to Prague. the first time we stayed at the Crowne Plaza which was a good hotel, but quite a way from the centre. This time I booked the Jalta to be 'in town'.
The hotel is very well situated, and the facilities are good without being outstanding. The room was OK (I had no view), the bed was OK, again without being great.
The reception staff were fine and the concierge brilliant. The hotel offers a car transfer to the airport for 750Kr. This is negotiable as on a good day a reputable taxi will cost less. I paid the hotel 590.
I suppose the one thing that really annoyed me with the Jalta was the 500Kr per day charge for internet access. Grrrrrr.
Great Location and Accomodations

The rooms here are very nice - with a GREAT, central location. I would have rated this hotel even higher but the "business office" is basically a broom closet. Not sure what the other rater's issue was with the beds - mine was comfy as was 20 other people in my travel party. Also - with the proliferation of adult entertainment venues in Prague, this hotel allows you to stay clear of some of the seedier areas.
expensive

Stayed at the hotel Jalta for 3 nights from the 19th feb 2008
Hotel was clean and staff polite and efficient.
Room was rather small on the 4th floor
Our mobile didnt work for some reason but had to call home only twice to check on our son,we had room service twice one for ice and the other for breakfast.
The breakfast was awful, runny horrid scramble egg and awful sausages and bacon, the only edible thing was the croissant and cereal and bread rolls.Didnt have breakfast again.
We did have two cans of coke from the mini bar,and had the extra channels for 2 nites, totaling ?80,expensive
Beware of bathroom floor very slippery, fell over and injured my back with severe bruising.
Pragues was expensive had 2 english breakfast at the shamrock
irish bar and a coke and a pint,came to ?30,nearly 1000czk .
Had steak meal, was very expensive 4000czk,for fillet and ribeye and a starter and 1 drink each. Expensive.
We drank large bacardi not to many as nearly ?10 with coke each.Expensive
Spent double what we anticipated,Prague is extremley expensive all round, dont think its cheap.
