I arrived with m partener at Le Dome on Friday. We booked a double room, only to find two single beds that were "joined" to make a double bed. We are a young couple so walking into main district wasnt a problem but may pose as a problem for older tourists. The Restraunt was terrible. I ordered an Omlette and my girlfriend ordered a sandwich, both came with un-expected suprise in the form of a bug that crawled from the salad. Room is decorated in 60's decor, and sound proofing is a minimal as the traffic is very noisy and there does seem to be alot of emergency vehicals blaring past at every time of day and night. I was on 6th floor and this was still very noisy.

The nearby boulevard is much to busy to be quiet even at night: the room doubled-windows are useless : don not forget your ear plugs.
Breakfast time is shorter than announced.
Room furnitures are from the 60's.
At night, the door man is not friendly, you have to show and prove you are a guest from the street , even if cold and rainy !!!
Toilets are not that clean.
Not really a four stars.....

I was unexpectedly stuck in Brussels on a Friday afternoon, so I booked the Le Dome through wotif.com for 85 Euro inclusive of B/fast & taxes.
My room on the 6th Floor (I think) faced the busy intersection, and was a little noisy from time to time as Emergency vehicles blared past every 30 minutes or so. Still I appreciated the two seperate doorways which opened onto the small terrace, if only to encourage fresh air to circulate the room.
The size was really quite massive, and there were 3 single beds in my "single" room. The bed I slept on was SOFT and narrow, but I still slept like a baby once the terrace doors were closed.
The room had quasi-double glazing which kept the busy road noise to a minimum. Big bathroom, overall plenty of room for 2 or 3 mates to share without feeling cramped. The furniture was dated, with a sofa that almost fell apart when I tested it, but that only seemed to add to the charm of the place in some strange way.
I didn't notice the "thin walls" mentioned in other reviews.
The TV only seemed to have one "english-language" station (a BBC channel).
The mini bar was stocked with a few beers and soft drinks, dozens of eating options were close by (I tried the kabab joint next door, which was cheap and tasty).
Staff were quite polite and genuinely helpful with a fair to good grasp of english. Overall a tad "faulty-towers-esque" which amused me somewhat.
Breakfast was "sparse" but adequate, you could find enough "stuff" (Toast, jam, cereal, coffee, tea, juices and a few cold meat & cheese cuts), to get your day off on the right foot.
About a 7 or 8 Euro taxi ride from Brussels midi station or a cheaper option is the subway which has a stop very close by.
So overall a roomy 3 star hotel, without any glitz or glamour, which provides a safe, clean home for the night.
If you can get in at around the 80 Euro mark, I would suggest you have got a pretty good deal.
