Booking on Travelocity as a last minute city break I didn't expect more than a room with a bed to come up for the money I had.
Infact I must of stumbled across maybe the best hotel I've been to in a while.
From the outside the green exterior looks slightly dated, but still clean and respectable. The gardens in front are well looked after and definitely make up for it.
Then once you enter the hotel through the set of two electric doors you find yourself in the lobby with a flat screen television, luxury stone/marble floors and worktops and to the right the desk where the reception staff give second to none help for your stay.
We arrived about an hour before check-in because of our early flight but were told it was fine to go up to the room anyway.
The hotel room definetly lived up to the four stars it awards itself with, you get a flat screen tv, brand new looking bathroom which was spotless, beds which were built to last but nonetheless comfy, safe, minibar/fridge, complimentary slippers and extra pillows in the wardrobe.
The trams are visible from the balcony as they pass every 5 or so minutes (but not heard). They go straight to the Duomo (city center).
One concern is that if you find yourself popping to the McDonald's before 1am closing time at night, be warned that the road it is on seems to be some sort of red light district as I spotted at least 10 prostitutes on street corners. McDonald's is only less than 1 minute walk away!! The prostitutes all seem to be men-to-women but they are very friendly and hold your head high and walk past.
We spend 4 days there and in future would love to go back. I would definetly stay there again and recommend it to anybody wanting to go to Milan.

Great value hotel if you're going to the Milan Fair. We paid only 90 euro/night. Helpful staff, a bar & a good breakfast. Trams just outside. I'd certainly stay again.
Excellent people & service

I was in hurry to book a hotel in Milano and did so in about half an hour. I didn't expect such a good hotel to come up.
People were very friendly and professional from our entrance to our room. Having asked a smoking room, three minutes after we entered the room, the groom knocked the door to provide us with an ashtray. We were immediately surprised by that, to care and serve us so quickly.
Although the rooms and corridors brought the sense of an old but quite refurbished building, their room facilities were more than satisfying.
I've been in 5 star hotels and they all had small safes, Raffaello had a big one, the first one to be so big that I was finally able to put my laptop in. The double bed was very big, the minibar could be better, but they didn't charge us at all the for the three drinks we had.
In many hotels, whether 4 or 5 hotels, a hydromassage isn't still necessary for them. Well, Rafaello provided a great hydromassage machine in the bathroom. Some other hotels had jacuzzi, so there should be noone unsatisfied with bathroom facilities. A small bidet was also available (still can't be found in many 5 star hotels).
The room was very big, so we had the chance to spread our clothes all over the room without any thought of stepping on them, as usual!!
Its location is not close to the center, however there is a tram stop right outside the hotel. With 1 euro, you can go to the center, and with 1 euro to return! That will be in about 30-40 minutes.
If you are not fun of public transport, let me tell you that, you won't save more than 5-10 minutes if you go by taxi. There is serious traffic in Milan.
The only con I can find, is what annoys me the most: Internet connection is very important for keeping track of my job, and I can't stand when hotels charge you hard, when their connection is almost free of cost for them.
I had to pay 16 euros for 8 hours (I stayed one night), where other hotels charge you nothing or a very small fee for unlimited access.
Anyway, that does not change my opinion for this hotel, it was absolutely a surprise and serious consideration for staying the next time we visit this fantastic city.

Large hotel (126 rooms) oriented on the business traveller rather than tourists considering its location a little outside the centre. From the street the Raffaello looks grim and a bit dirty, but once you enter the hotel it's really spotless everywhere; the lobby, the hallways and the rooms are all EXTREMELY clean.
The rooms are spatious and bright and have TV, minibar, a safe and telephone. The large bathrooms are simply perfect with a seperate shower and a bath with 'jacuzzi mode'.
There is an internet point in the lobby which is free to use, but at the time of our visit it wasn't working properly. The breakfast buffet is large but the quality of the food could be improved. Staff is not particularly friendly but nevertheless professional.
