Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in October.
It is an expensive hotel and the rooms are nothing special.
Saying that the staff I found friendly and any problems we faced were quickly resolved.
An average hotel in a nice part of town.

Stayed here recently for a few nights. Location of this hotel is great, Close to all the sights and close to the Park with cafes and bars close by.
Staff were unfriendly to say the least. Formal efficient but never friendly. We had booked and agreed a price before going and thought that was ok. I know hotels in Moscow are expensive and thought price was alright for what we were gettting. Breakfast was 850 per person. Honestly, its not worth it. First morning it was average at best. Secnd morning inedible (0ver cooked) third morning we didnt have it.
Upon leaving and trying to pay the bill, the hotel charged us MUCH more than was agreed and would not back down. It ruined our trip and was an experience I would NOT recommend to anyone.

I stayed here for 3 nights in December 2004.
The best thing is the location - a few nice cafes on the block and the Patriarch's Pond just around the corner - you could walk to Red Square in 20 -30 minutes. or Pushkinskaya Metro in about 10
The hotel is a little disappointing - for 300 dollars a night I expected better.
It is made up of more than one building joined by walkways so it is a bit like a rabbit warren. In the block I was in we had to share a very small elevator with all the chambermaids and their laundry - the area outsdie the lift on the ground floor was used as a dump.
The rooms are - OK - but we are spending US$300 a night here and there were not really any touches that made it better than 3 star.
Some of the staff are pretty grumpy and the service in the lobby bar - oh sorry - I forgot - there is no service in the lobby bar.
And the last point - I booked this on Travelocity for $250 per night inclusive of breakfast and taxes and was charged far more.
Last point - I booked a car to take me to Sherymetevo after check out - the staff sent the driver to the wrong airport - I almost missed a flight
Since then, I'v stayed at the Ulkraina($100 per night - OK and a fantastic building), Sheraton, ($280 per night good), and the Sovietsky ( $150 per night- fantastic), and I would choose any of them before the Marco Polo.
I'd say 4/10 for this rather pretentious hotel

This hotel has ideas way above its station. You are greeted with a glass of Champagne as you check in, but that this is last service that you recieve that is either free or charitable!
The hotel must be the most expensive in Moscow by area since I am paying $250 plus tax per night for a room which is smaller than my bathrrom in the Marriot Royal Aurora which I paid only $380 per night! The Marriot also had a butler, free 24 hrs buffet and a bed that I could have slept my entire family in!
The television reception is applaling and the choice of stations is, should I say - limited.
You cannot charge your meal in the restaurant to the room, only cash or VISA is accepted.
My recommendation - avoid this hotel - unless you like overpriced 2/3 star hotels
