All of my money stolen from our hotel room!
Guest name: rockstep, Florida
I stayed in this hotel just last week and thought potential guests would want to know that someone was able to come into our room and steal all of my cash from my wallet, which was inside my purse, during the only 30 minutes in Paris that I left my purse unattended (it was in our locked hotel room, during the hotel breakfast in the morning).
The hotel was okay otherwise, but as a frequent traveler I thought others would want to know that a hotel staff member or hotel guest was able to get into our room and steal my money. Making matters worse, the hotel staff was not exactly concerned nor sympathetic when we informed them of this. I hope you do not have the same experience.

I Loved this hotel. The receptionist was very helpful and nice. The cleaning staff was very nice as well. As was the breakfast staff. Everyone here was very polite and pleasant. I am recommending this hotel to anyone that comes to Paris. The location was great. Very close to outdoor cafes, a hop and skip away from the thriving Latin Quarter. Walking distance to Notre Dame. Close to the subway (but i recommend taking buses better..you can see more). The receptionist new the bus routes and told us how to get everywhere on the bus and it was sooooo easy and wonderful! The room was small but nice. Our big window opened and overlooked the street. The shower was acceptable but i wish they would use a different shower curtain. That one could be very germy. They didn't have shampoo or soap but that was ok because we had our own. The towels were nice and thick and the bedding was acceptable. Our favorite part was our breakfast that was included. The most delicious croissants ever! There was croissants, toast, baguettes, yogurt in various flavors, fruit (canned), milk, orange juice, an assortment of teas, french hot chocolate (delish!), coffee, an assortment of cereals, ham, an assortment of fresh cheeses, cream cheeses, jams and jellies. Oh it was wonderful! Highly recommended. Thank you Hotel Moderne St. Germain for your hospitality and help!

I choose this hotel because I needed to stay on the left bank near to the Sorbonne. The location was excellent as it provided easy access to the metro, a range of good restaurants as well as the attractions of Paris' latin quarter. My daughter and I found the staff extremely helpful. We had a good sized room with an equally good sized bathroom providing both a bathtub and shower. However, we noticed that some of the other rooms were not quite as large. We particuarly appreciated the wifi internet access which enabled us to use our laptop within our room as well as in the public areas. We paid separately for the buffet breakfast which had a sufficient variety of food to cater for my daughter who is a vegan. Our room was at the front of the hotel - overlooking the street - and there was noise when we opened our window and we also experienced some noise at night. However, overall this was a positive experience.

The hotel is in a great neighborhood with a wonderful grocer across the street. The rooms are a size that is to be expected in Europe but the bathrooms have all the modern amenities. My top floor room had two balconies with great views. The continental breakfast was yummy and the staff was very helpful in helping store luggage that arrived after we did. I'd return.

I was very happy with my experience at this hotel. I had read the reviews on trip advisor before leaving, and was nervous after I read one review saying you had to leave your key at the front desk when you left for the day, and getting back in to your room late at night was a problem. I did not have to leave my key with anyone when I left, and I never had any trouble getting into the hotel when I got back (sometimes as late as 3 am). I found the hotel very clean, rooms small (but as expected for Europe) but comfortable none the less. The shower was good with hot water and good water pressure as well. I had a room (#52) facing the street and was never really bothered by any traffic noise. I cannot say enough about the fantastic central location of this hotel and how easy it was to walk to most desired locations, and the Metro stop is literally one block down. Overall, I give this hotel a positive rating and recommend it to anyone who wants a clean, comfortable, albeit not fancy, hotel.
