Just returned from a 3-night stay at the Viscount Suite Hotel. We were in Tucson for my daughter's U of A orientation, so not here for a vacation. I say that b/c if this had been a vacation, I would have stayed at an actual resort, but the Viscount filled the bill for our needs....i.e. clean, comfortable, in relatively good condition, included (a good and plentiful) breakfast., and only about a 10-minute drive to the U of A. They also had a small but very usable gym.
My only gripe has to do with the pool. Nice pool area, but the pool was absolutely filthy. It desperately needed to be cleaned. I've never seen a hotel pool so dirty. Fortunately, we did not have much time to spend at the pool (orientation kept us pretty busy), but it would have been nice for it to have been usable. However, I will give the benefit of the doubt and assume that this was an anomaly. But it is the only reason that I'm giving an overall experience rating of 3 dots rather than 4.
While we normally stay at one of the Residence Inns in this area (very nice accommodations, good breakfast, clean pool), we were not able to get a good rate at one this time, so booked the Viscount, which was a good value under $100/night. I certainly would consider the Viscount again in the future.

Could have been better. I loved the free hot breakfast buffet which was great, but the hotel itself was only so-so. The free wireless internet did not get a signal in my room and the rooms thumblatch on my door was missing. Worst of all there seemed to be several blood colored spots on my sheet. I don't know if they had been washed and was unable to remove the stain or they were just never washed but either way it was not good. It wasn't the worst place I have ever stayed but I don't know if i would go there again

I enjoyed my week stay at Viscount very much. Although a bit pricey- the rooms are showing their wear very much- the room was overall very clean, the food was awesome- and the staff was Above average.
If the price was a little lower and the rooms redone, this would be a 4 star hotel. Maybe they will update the decor and rates soon.

Stay away from this place. This used to be one of the nicer hotels in Tucson back in the late 80’s. This place is now a dump. My non-smoking room had cigarette burns and stains all over the carpet, bedspreads, and curtains. The shower had such low water flow that I felt like I was in a third world country.
They used to have a nice restaurant. However, it is now shutdown. The breakfast buffet that is held in the atrium reminds me a disaster relief situation. I believe that I was the only customer in the room that spoke English. The bar is not bad and is one of the better places in the hotel.
There is a TGI Fridays next door, which is nice (as far as TGI Fridays goes).
I am hard pressed to find good in this property. It needs to be shut down for a major renovation as soon as possible.
