A good value hotel in a convenient location. Just two blocks from the train station. Dont be put off by the hookers and dodgy looking characters on the street it is safe. The staff were friendly and the room and bathrooms clean. The breakfasts were good with the danishes fantastic. There is always a floor show going on at night on the street which is well worth watching. Did get a bit noisy at times, but generally good. Security at the hotel is good and there is free internet. Book on the hotels internet site and you get a discount.

We very much enjoyed our three nights in this hotel. It was very easy to find and we caught a train from the airport, Platform 2 and it was only three stops. It only cost approx ?6. When leaving the station, leave on the left hand side and the hotel is more or less facing you.
We found that nearly everyone spoke English and were very helpful if they were asked. Copenhagen itself is a very expensive city. One round of two drinks cost us approximately ?12 when you drink in the main town. It you walk across the river to Christiania, the drinks in the pubs there are cheap and a pint costsabout ?1.50.
We found out too late that there is a 25 min train ride to Sweden which we would have done had we realised.
The hotel is very nice. We found it clean and the breakfasts were lovely. Unfortunately the hotel is on the edge of the red light district and there are alot of ladies walking up and down, however you feel very safe and no one bothers you. Our room was tucked away and we heard no noise at all from the outside.
We would certainly recommend this hotel, but if going to Copenhagen, take a lot of money with you.

We stayed here purely for one nights accommodation - we were arriving into Copenhagen in the afternoon and leaving at about 7am the next morning so we only wanted somewhere clean to rest our heads, which was exactly what we got.
Was terrific value for money (though I think we were given a room upgrade so not sure what the room we actually paid for looked like) and included a great buffet breakfast the next day.
Room was small and clean with a bathroom included (though I think the room we paid for was supoosed to have a shared bathroom in another part of the hotel).
Is very conveniently located to the train station and we felt quite safe (think we walked home at about 10pm).
Front desk staff were very helpful and I think there was also free Internet in the lobby (though you had to stand to use it which deterred you from spending too much time there :))

We arrived at the selandia hotel in Copenhage at midnight on the 6th Dec 2007.We had booked 2 twin rooms and 1 single room, when we got to the rooms the twin rooms were actually double beds and it was 2 ladies sharing (cosy) the rooms smelt of smoke and were not very clean. We decided between ourselves that there was no way we were sleeping there that night.so we went out looking for another hotel we walked the streets until 2.40am with no joy.
Our only hope was to go back to the Du Nord hotel 100yrds away the guy that was on the night before was the nicest polite man i think i've met he was lovely but could'nt do anything without speaking to his boss the next day.
So we went back to the selandia and told the guy on reception that we were not happy with the rooms and that they smelt of smoke. he said there was nothing he could do.When asked by 1 of our party if the room could be cleaned he handed her a tin of air freshner and said spray that,as you can imagine that went down like a lead balloon. We stayed that night then the following morning went down to breakfast and got accused of being nasty to the breakfast staff,we had spoken to nobody.i went to reception again and asked for a change of room to be greeted by the most rudest man in the world,he really needs to learn some customer service skills, there was no way he was doing anything for us,so we checked out because we had got a room for the next 2 nights at the Du Nord Hoptel which was fab i would highly reccommend this hotel to anyone but would not reccommend the SELANDIA IT STINKS and it is nothing like the pictures on the internet..

I stayed in one of the rooms without a bathroom and like the other reviewers have said, never had to wait and never had a problem with hygiene. The room itself could do with refurbishing, but the bed was really comfy and it was very clean. Breakfast was quite nice and the free internet really handy. The walls were a bit thin between rooms which might be more of a problem at weekends. My room faced the courtyard so was really quiet otherwise. The best thing about it is definitely the location, go down the stairs by platform 11-12 at central station, turn left and you'll see it straight ahead of you at the junction a couple of feet down the road. It's not the fanciest, most romantic room but if you want to stay in the city centre on a budget (but with some creature comforts!) and be close to everything it's ideal.
