booked through late rooms.com
stayed overnight for our son's graduation.
worst hotel we have ever stayed at.
rooms were filthy, bathroom smelt of drains & tiles covered in mold.
bed throw was filthy with urine stains. breakfast was average, staff friendly but service was like faulty towers.
would not recommend this hotel. wish i have read reviews before we booked!!!!

We stayed a while ago here and it was so appalling we wrote and complained to Head Office who promised changes would be made. Reading these most recent reviews it seems that has not happened.
My OH and I stayed there with my elderly parents for a couple of nights. On arrival the receptionist was particularly unhelpful spending an extremely long time on what appeared to be a private call while we all hung around waiting. And no apology when she actually turned her attention to us. There seems to be one small communal area, more like a corridor really and a scruffy bar. The rooms were not ready for us at the set times but again no apology and no offer of looking after our bags so we could go out.
The bedrooms are nice and large but so dated they are depressing. A mouse appeared in my parents room so they complained and were moved and at 1 o'clock in the morning it was apparently essential the room next to them (with shared connecting door) was loudly prepared for a conference with much laughter and door banging.
We were heading out later so wanted a bar snack. The hotel was hosting a large office Christmas party and so we were made to feel a complete inconvenience and had to sit in the depressing waiting area. After much eye-rolling and sighing the waitress brought a menu. My toasted tuna sandwich consisted of white flabby untoasted bread with lukewarm mashed up tinned tuna. My mother's omelette was burnt - when she pointed this out she was told by the charming waitress 'well it's coming up to Christmas and we're busy - what do you expect?' . (More sighing and eye-rolling).
At 3am room service came banging on the door (they had got the wrong room) and went off without apologising.
Breakfast was OK in that nothing terrible happened.
If you are after a thoroughly miserable and depressing experience, and want to feel you are a nuisance and in the way, this is the place for you. And you pay for it!

A grubby hotel that is in real need of good clean! The lift should be in a theme park and the staff are in need of some serious re-training.
Breakfast was cold, the tables were dirty and I must have tried 4 plates before finding a clean one.
The breakfast staff were incredibly rude and after complaining to reception ended up with a stand up argument on customer service issues.
You could not pay me to stay at this hole!!!!
utter rubbish and I am still waiting for my promised telephone call from the hotel manager with regards the very poor service.

We arrived and checked in, wish we hadnt. Went to the room, it was dirty, the curtains looked like they had been dipped in a dirty puddle. The whole decor is dated and dirty. Went to open the window to let some fresh air in and to get rid of the condensation and the handle came off in my hand. The only plus point was the shower which was hot and powerful, right until I went to adjust the shower head, where the cover came off and the dirt and crap that rained down on me I just cant describe, I think a legionella check is in order.
When we came in after our night out, the night porter would not let us in because we didnt have any keys, the reason being that we were told by the receptionist on our way out to leave the key at reception!! Eventually, we got in and wanted a drink, which we were told earlier that we could get drinks but would have to put them on the room bill, which was fine, but the night porter refused to serve us, so we went to bed.
Breakfast was a disaster, loads of tables but all dirty and not cleared away. When I asked a member of staff where we could sit, he replied"anywhere you like mate, I'm really busy". So we sat down, waited 15 minutes, then cleared the dirty plates away ourselves. Went to get some cereal, there were no dishes, so we waited for the dishes to come then there was no milk, so we gave up on cereal. The unhelpful waiter then asked to take our order, so I asked for 2 full english breakfasts, he then said "no mate, what drinks do you want, breakfast is self service". So we ordered tea and toast, which never came, and went to the servery. No bacon, cold scrambled egg, no mushrooms and a cold tomato, and an ever increasing queue. Asked the waiter if any food was coming to which he replied " I don't know, we are busy you know mate". So we got up from the table, went to reception and informed the receptionist that I was going to make a formal complaint, to which she replied "Ok then, thankyou".
We went to the room, got our bags and left, and walked to Weatherspoons and paid for a lovely breakfast.
Take my advice, do not go to this hotel, it is horrendous!!
I have informed the AA about the hotel because they grade it at 3 Stars, don't think it will be for much longer.

This is hands down one of the worst hotels i have ever stayed in. I will start with the postives the rooms are very big, the menu very varied and the staff are friendly even if there are only two of them. Oh and the location is tremendous.
The downsides:
The hotel is not clean, in fact its really not clean. One of my colleagues got a skin rash after staying there. It looks as if it hasnt been decorated since god knows.
It can get noisy at night, almost all of us had stomach problems from the food, or maybe the water, its still a mystery.
I feel sorry for the staff here as they do make an effort, especially the one guy who is the receptionist, barman, waiter and room service all in one. Seriously though if you can DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! cant make that any clearer, the train station could possibly be more comfortable than this place.
