It was an amazing trip at Dalian from 16th - 18th March 2008. My purpose travelling to Dalian was to visit China most biggest plant and factory. At the beginning I was planning to stay at ANA Japan Hotel, because I have once stayed in that Hotel who was managed by ANA Japan Management at Beijing called JingLun Hotel. But remembering that Furama hotel was onced my childhood state-of-the-art Hotel at Hong kong back in 198X.
Once I checked in Furama Hotel Dalian, I was surprised that this 5 star hotel was 1 of the best hotel right now at Dalian City, I can't describe really my astonishing feeling because the theme, color, uniform, logo.. level of service was exactly same as 2X years ago!! Although i can't recommend anything but I was surprised that they have upgrade alot, I am saying a regular standard room was designed like regular 5 star hotel's Executive Floor Class standard!!
Only 1 thing I am not pleased was the internet services, because only Executive Floors are allowed free Internet service where others are RMB$4 per 1 min, other than that.... everything are extremely excellent. The bathroom was 1 of the best because its equivalent to Japan's 5 star hotel standard, I would describe as: Multi-function Toilet & Bathroom with Shower. Its Much better than Erdos Holiday Inn at Inner Mongolia.!!
Breakfast was not astonishing but surprisingly happy, because they offer Japanese style breakfast!! those Japanese style breakfast taste like high-end Japanese Restaurant at Hong Kong. I love it sooo much, Japanese people lived long because of healthy Diets... The more you stayed in Furama Hotel... the more longer life will be extended.
The Regular standard rooms Window View was perfect, it was designed well for business travellers, It gives business traveller a relaxing and Emperor/King feeling. Although more upcoming world class 5 are still under construction, but its really hard for me to compare because Furama Hotel Dalian's starting point aimed really High. I am looking forward to return A.S.A.P.

We stayed for two nights at Furama in July and it was fabulous. The general manager there was very accommodating, he even offered to open the fitness center early for us. Our room was clean and spacious, staff was quite helpful, and the toilet seat was heated. I have absolutely no complaints about this hotel and would definitely book here if I was heading back.

Stayed at the Furama in April for a weekend. When checking in was immediately upgraded to an executive room which was extremely spacious and comfortable, all for just over a 100 US$ a night including breakfast.
Location is good and only a short bus ride to downtown shopping area and bang next to Shangri La which has a better bar than the Furama.
Only ate in restaurant for breakfast but choice was good and service attentive.
Only downsides are that public areas all seem a bit tired compared to the shangri la and service just a little impersonal.

Stayed here for three nights (mid-April '07) to attend a trade show in Dalian.
The hotel is well located on a main thoroughfare in Dalian, about 20 minutes by cab from the Expo Center, site of the trade show.
The Furama is a very large, comfortable hotel with excellent service and very spacious rooms. I stayed on the Club Level, where the room was quite large, with a huge bathroom. Did not use the Club facilities for breakfast or drinks, as I was out before it opened and had other commitments following the show. I did eat at the breakfast buffet in the morning and the August Moon restaurant. The former is the usual mad house in the morning. The August Moon, located on the 22nd floor, is a very nice Chinese restaurant, with a range of regional dishes available. Excellent service here.
As a business hotel, you can count on a high level of service - laundry, room service, in-room internet - all performed flawlessly. Concierge service was able to arrange car service and, initially, helped with cabs.
There's not much I could find in the way of shopping in Dalian, but the Furama has an in-house shopping mall that includes a range of designer stores as well as one that specializes in Chinese handicrafts. There is a "Friendship Store" located next door as well, with a range of gift possiblities.
Overall, a sound choice for business travelers in Dalian.

Have just returned from staying here in a West Wing room for just under a month. I'd highly recommend it to anyone. It had a large well appointed 5 star room that lived up to every expection set by the excellent web site. The staff were also very helpful. If I return to this city I'll definitely come back.
