This was our first visit to Rome and we wanted a hotel that was close to the tourist sites but not too noisy. The Atlante Star was in a perfect position for us, just a nice walking distance to the old part of Rome, close to Vatican City and Castel Sant Angelo, plenty of lovely eating places around that served beautiful food and not too expensive. All the staff in the hotel were very pleasant, helpful and polite, the room and bathroom were clean and nicely decorated. A few days before flying out I emailed the hotel to ask about transport from the airport and they arranged for us to be picked up at no charge, this was real customcare. During our stay some re-furbishing was going on on our floor but we were given an apology and asked if we wished to move to another floor, the hotel staff could not have done more. Whilst we were impressed with the room and service, it was the roof top restaurant that made this hotel stand out for us. The breakfast buffet catered for everyones taste and was very enjoyable but sitting eating your food looking out over St Peter's Basilica and the roof tops of Rome was amazing. Our memories of Rome are special and part of this is due to this hotel, I would recommend it without reserve and will go back to it if /when we visit Rome again

Being our first trip to Rome we wanted to stay as central as possible. Our local travel agent suggested the Atlante Garden as they had booked in this hotel quite a few times before. We were very happy of their choice as we were literally a 5 minute walk from St. Peters square and in an area which was not at all too touristy and had the local feeling to it. We had a bus stop just outside the hotel and the subway at very short walk away. We decided to treat ourselves to a special dinner at the sister hotel’s restaurant. Very elegant setting, delicious food and a breathtaking view! They even provided a complimentary airport transfer service upon arrival which worked very well indeed. Definitely recommendable for a holiday in Rome.

Hotel Atlante Garden is a great place to stay. It is located within walking distance of Vatican City, the Metro, the bus stop, shops & restaurants. The room was clean and the employees were extremely courteous and helpful. Foster at the registration desk spoke excellent English and gave great directions. He knew which bus stop and which Metro stop to take to each area. When we asked to have one of the cots (there were 4 of us in the room) replaced because it was uncomfortable, it was replaced by the time we got back to our room. When the shower head didn't work properly, they replaced it immediately. I do suggest you ask for a room on the back side of the hotel. We were on the second floor and the street noise was loud all night.

As soon as we got here we felt scammed-website showed photo's of sister hotel with rooftop gardens and restaurant-if you see this on the site for Atlante Gardens rest assured you will not find it here. Rooms are very small, advertised jacuzzi's are in a bath with fixtures missing so you can't work them. One one site there were FAQ's, one of which asked if there was much street noise. The site advised "no" as the rooms were treble glazed and soundproofed. Neither of this can be true, the window had 2 layers of wooden shutters which definately did not keep out the continous loud noise. We could also hear people coming up the stairs even though we were at the bottom of the hall. The decor was very cluastrophobic!!!!! The room didn't smell too fresh. In the end we moved to the sister hotel that we had thought we booked in the 1st place-we were charged ?80 for this!!!
