We stayed here for 3 nights in March 2008. This is an old hotel, and looks well used. However, it gets 10/10 for clean and comfortable, which are our most important criteria. There seemed to be an issue with the hot water though - we could never get it hotter than lukewarm. All the staff we talked to were friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was great, plenty of choice. We have no problem recommending this hotel.

Very old and absolutely nasty hotel, very strange staff, no internet access and beach facilities. Rooms are horrible

This hotel must have been modernised since some of the earlier reviews were written. My room was very clean and the furniture and fittings were modern and comfortable. Huge king size bed. Lovely choice of good food in "Windows" for breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. I have no complaints there.
Taxis in Abu Dhabi are cheap and plentiful. The only warning I would give to other travellers is NOT to book a taxi direct from the hotel to the airport, because this cost me more than 3 times what the meter said, when I reached the airport.

I travel to Abu Dhabi frequently on business & pleasure. Would not recommend this hotels for tourists, especially not for women. The room is very sparce, more like a hostel. Staff are helpful, but really, compared to the quality of other hotels , which can be outstanding, this is a poor choice. Rotana themselves have several suitable ones locally. Pay the extra!

My mother and I stayed at the International for 24 nights so we could visit our grand children over Christmas and New Year. Bosco kept our suite clean and tidy the chef accomodated our need for mashed potatoes, Ahmed the waiter was faultless with mint teas and porridge at breakfast, Christina met us with a smile each morning and the Nepalese doorman/bellboy just brightened each day. With this hotel you get what you pay for, I could not fault the staff or management who showed us nothing but kindness. I am booking again for February 2008. Book a suite is my recommendation and have no airs and graces.
It is not the Ritz but having been to the Ritz these people were more real.
