We stayed at the San Giorgio at the end of June 2007 and had a wonderful holiday. The hotel is small, family owned, well run and very friendly.
The hotel owner picked us up from the airport and we were shown to our delighful room overlooking Paradise bay. Stunning views. If you can, it is worth booking a superior room. If you like efficient bathrooms, this is the place for you. Everthing was sparkllng clean.
Breakfast was buffet style on a neat little terrace. The only small complaint would be that although more than adequate, the breakfast menu is constantly the same every day and a little variation would not go amiss.
The decked pool area was lovely overlooking both bays with a small poolside bar with lunch available. No kitchen after 5.00 pm but not missed as there are one or two good restaurants a stones throw away.
Beach, either Paranga or Paradise, are moments away with a bus stop to Mykonos town (every hour) and supermarket within minutes.
There is also no need to go into town every day if you don't want to - good taverna on the beach open until late at night.
All in all, everthing was perfectly set up for a relaxing holiday. We are planning another visit next year!

We stayed here as part of the last leg of our trip to greece and were underwhelmed with the accomodations. The room we stayed in had a continuous "bathroom" smell, but all else was acceptable. The hotel is in an excellent location between two beaches (keep in mind that it is not on the beach, but a short walk), Paradise and Paraga. This was one on the large benefits. We also had a room with a balcony, however the wind was completely overbearing the entire three days that we were there. We literally could not even sit on the balcony due to the hurricane level winds whipping through (this may have just been a timing issue - obviously not the hotels fault). The whipping wind was also extremely loud at night when we were trying to sleep.
The service was acceptable (at times when we asked questions, I personally felt like we were mildly imposing), but we regret not staying in the main town and making day trips to the beach. It was also very difficult to get into town as the bus schedules changed each day that we were there. We were told that the buses run every hour, but they changed the schedule (and don't inform the hotel) and ended up coming every two hours. Therefore we needed to wait two hours one night. (This also could have been a result of the fact that we were there in September which is less busy and has fewer tourists).
Of the two beaches, we would recommend Paraga beach in favor of Paradise - our personal choice. There are good places to eat at both beaches and we did not feel that it was as loud as we were told it would be.
Overall, it was an enjoyable experience however since we stayed in exceptional places previously on our journey, this hotel seemed only mediocre. In defense of the hotel, some of our critical points could be more of the result of the actual time of year that we were staying at the hotel.

The only reason I didnt give an Excellent review is that although the location in terms of beach access is excellent, the modes of transportation to get to town are not excellent but above average - a bus stops right infront of the hotel every hour until 1 AM so you have to plan your exit from the hotel carefully. However, you can catch a bus to town from paradise beach every 30 mins but that involves approx. a 10 - 15 min walk over some rocky terrain. Ok... if you dont have a need to go to town very often, then I would rate this hotel as Excellent.
The hotel itself is perfect because it has two beautiful beaches on each side. Location as I mentioned is great because on either side is Paradise Beach (good party crowd, heavy techno, kind of young though ~ 18 - 22 year old hangs out there) and other side is Paraga Beach (again, good party crowd but older ~ 26 - 35 year old crowd). The good restaurants are on Paraga beach and a little walk away is another more secluded beach with a restaurant). The views are fabulous. Very very relaxing. I believe every room has a personal terrace but I might be wrong so be sure to ask for an ocean facing room with a terrace. Breakfast was very good every morning and came with the room - it was a buffet style full service menu with eggs, coffee, many desserts, pastries, different kinds of eggs etc etc - very good. The restaurant manager is also a very polite and nice gentleman and they cleaned the plates off the table immediately as you go for refills. All restaurant staff was all smiles as they went about their work. Believe me, in Greece this is a big big thing since in other tourist locations you will find that people kind of have a 'tired of tourist' attitude which I dont blame them since so many tourists go there in the summer when we were there - therefore most people we came across were not very helpful but not rude at the same time; just indifferent; in San Giorgio we didnt get this same attitude; we got a very positive attitude. The lady during the day at the reception and the guy at night were also very very helpful; they were fast to get on the phone and get you information when you ask. Please be sure to tip when you check out because they work very hard.
I highly recommend renting a moped to get around or a car if you can afford it. Public bus is not extremely convenient (it will do if you dont mind waiting 30 mins to and hour for the next bus) and the moped ride is not as scary as it has been mentioned in other websites. I have never rode a moped or motor bike in my life and within 15 minutes I had the moped mastered and after the first day I was a pro.
Ok... recommendations for places to hang out near San Giorgio:
- If you wake up early i.e, before noon, go hang out at Radio Paraga on Paraga beach. Great hangout with the infinity pool. Its actually free to hang out there but we bought coffee or beer just so we didnt feel like leeches hanging out there. Also good crowd.
- Around 1 - 2 PM, move to Paraga beach till about 6 PM when the bars start playing music. Then go and hang out in a bar for about an hour. If you want a formal dinner, you can eat here in one of the restaurant.
- around 8 pm, walk to Paradise beach. There are cheaper cafeteria style restaurants there with places to sit and eat and watch the party and techno going on at Tropicana or any of the other clubs. Music is mostly techno so if you dont like that, stay put at Paraga.
- At 11 PM or so, take the bus/moped/rental car to town and check out Scandinavian bar (which is so so... not that great but ok... ) and dont waste money going inside but just hang out with the crowd outside. You can also check out Club Space which again looks really hyped up from outside with all the people trying to get inside but ince you are in its again so so...
- If you want to skip Paradise, then go relax in one of the restaurants by the water side in little venice. some restaurants will rudely tell you that the tables are only for diners but we found one lounge that served coffee and frappacino etc right by the water. We liked that place so much we went there twice in the same day once. Its also close to the touristy windmills.
Check out Delos one day. Take lots of film and read up on it before you go there so you appreciate the ruins. You can also take a guided tour; we didnt have a guide and I saw some groups with guides but it looked like the guides were rushing through so I would rather read up and go without a guide.
Thats about all Mykonos has to offer. But it kept us busy for 4 days. I wish I coulda stayed for 7 days and I would actually spend every one of the additional days at the beach or in little venice.
San Giorgio is great. I highly recommend it. Oh and it seems pets are allowed. I saw a lady with 2 little dogs (around 30 pounds each)
