Good location in Barcelona. The hotel has a contemporary feel and the service is excellent. I liked the rooms - modern, yet comfortable. TV wasn't the easiest to use, but had the best array of English channels I've ever come across! Breakfast was fine. Will stay there again.

I thought i would write a review as i found it hard to find reviews before i traveled here. Just got back from a weekend at the Alexandra hotel Barcelona with my boyfriend. The hotel was amazing! Really posh and everything was neat and tidy and up-to-date. There is a bar in the hotel reception, this is really nice and extremely modern. Staff are really friendly and will help if you have any issues, like booking a taxi for the return journey. The taxi cost about 25euros each way. The lift is amazing with a TV inside, there is a restaurant but we did not use this as we stayed room only and found it quite expensive, there are many really nice restaurants near by. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from Las Ramblas, the main shopping area, and i would recommend walking rather than getting the train as there are many pick pockets (a woman attempted to steal out of my boyfriends bag and less than a minute later out of my bag) I would defiantly make sure you have bags that are hard to get into and carry them on your front. Estuve con mi esposa y una hija entre el 24 y 27 de Diciembre y despues el 06 de Enero. La ubicación es muy buena, entre el paseo de Gracia y la Rambla de Catalunya, y a unas cuatro o cinco cuadras de la Plaza de Catalunya. Por Paseo de Gracia , a unas tres cuadras - bloques - del hotel, hay una parada de las micros panoramicas que recorren la ciudad y una estación de metro. En general el hotel - para quien no tenga gustos de jeque árabe - es bueno; el baño - yo estuve en la habitación 217 - es muy amplio y tiene incluso zapatillas de descanso y albornoces. ( salidas de baño ), además de los jabones y shampoo de pelo habituales.. El desayuno es muy completo y mas que suficiente para afrontar el día y almorzar bastante tarde. El personal tanto del comedor como en recepción fueron muy amables y atentos. Incluso nos indicaron una lavandería express automatica de ropas en la Plaza del Sol, a unos 5 minutos en taxi del hotel. La única objeción que haría, es que las habitaciones son un tanto oscuras y necesitarían una mejor iluminación. Francisco. Viña del Mar - CHILE

Our experience at the Alexandra was a very pleasant and a courteous one. After a 15 minute wait to check in (but what the heck have a drink you're on holiday) because of departures we were thanked for our patience and upgraded to a large top floor room overlooking the main street with a jacuzzi. The room was clean, very spacious with an extremely comfortable bed however the bathroom was beginning to look tired. The Alexandra is listed as a 4* and was no more than we expected from a central city hotel. We felt secure in the area of the hotel when out walking very late and were always welcomed or reassuringly challenged when entering the lobby late at night. 2 main lifts to the 5th floor then 3 flights of stairs to the floors above or a very scary ride in a small service lift, the only down side but our choice for the high room. Reception staff and bell boys sincere and welcoming and the evening barman a pleasure to sit with. We were concerned with stories of pickpockets and muggings but we had no problems or witness any. As with any city just be sensible and leave the diamonds and gold at home, no handbag and don't flash your money. From the hotel it's a 10 minute walk to the metro and main bus stops then a further 5 minute walk to the top of La Rambla past designer shops, a mixture of cafes, restaurants and Tapas bars. Excellant stay in a good location, would return.

Nous avons séjourné 1 nuit dans cet hotel, le 18/08/07. Il était en travaux au niveau du lobby, mais ce n'était pas génant. Chambre et déco très moderne, belle salle de bain et accueil sympa. Parking hors de prix (25 Euros la journée) mais dans la moyenne des tarifs publics alentours. Excellent petit déjeuner. Cet hotel est bien placé et tout peut se faire à pied, les Ramblas, le port (un peu plus loin), sinon le métro n'est pas loin. Bon hotel dans l'ensemble.
