I had to stay there for 6 nights for a business trip. The hotel was fully booked because of the music fair, and we paid a very expensive fair rate. 325,00 Euro
The room was ok, it was nothing special, it looked like all hotel rooms ind these kind of hotels but it was clean.
The staff at the reception was very unfriendly, they lost the booking of our first night, and tried to blame us for that even we were holding the confirmation in our hands! There was no excuse, nothing.
The breakfast was uneblievable good. A very big choice, including a japanese section! That was really a good start of the day.
The staff at the restaurant lost our reservation one evenning, and this is of course a problem in a fully booked hotel. But they made it possible and were also kind and friendly. But - the food on the buffet was bad! The meat was so dry, we could not even chew it.
The Highlight of this hotel beside the breakfast was definetly the Japanese Restaurant. The food was great, wonderful staff, perfect!

I had to stay in Frankfurt already a number of times. The Maritim is really by far the worst Hotel of its class - if you actually want to say so because it's pretending to be a high class hotel though it does not have any of the quality.
The rooms in the Maritim are usually dirty (I had to stay there more than once). The carpet and furniture are old, the curtains are no longer white but rather yellow or even black. In the room I stayed beginning of September 2007 the carpet had a ridicously large blot of dirt (as you can see on the photo).
The staff is rather unfriendly: I asked for a room on a higher floor when checking in and the reply was that I had booked the standard category - although there were other "standard" rooms available on a higher floor...
Also I personally don't like where the hotel is locaed as there is no interesting spot in Frankfurt close to it - except for the fairgrounds if you want to visit those for business, which are right next door.

Gutes Konferenzhotel - ausgezeichnete Auswahl beim Frühstück
Guest name: Anonymous

Previous reviews are sort of on the mark but to be fair, this is a four star hotel with decent sized rooms and good conference facilities. For those of you not familiar with Frankfurt, the location is to the north-west of the main train station. You could get a cab from there (it would only take about 5 -8- minutes) or the U-Bahn (still a hike with the bags) but if you want to save money, you could also get the tram (nos. 16 or 17) which runs frequently. It is the closest hotel to the Messe (trade fair) and in fact shares part of the congress centre.
Rooms are of a good size - there should be no complaints. Facilities are standard and include just about all the cable TV you could need (although no plasma screens in the Maritim chain yet to my knowledge), well stocked mini-bar and good bathrooms which were fully stocked with amenities.
Breakfast was included in my rate and was outstanding - the selection
in the 'Ambiente' restaurant was almost overwhelming including cold meats/cheeses selection, eggs done four ways, full Japanese breakfast, fruits, breads and baked goods and so forth - service is generally prompt and to the point.
A minor difficulty on checkout which was cleared up quickly but otherwise a good stay and certainly recommended for a stay in Frankfurt.
