Please do your self a favour and stay away from this hotel.
I'd like to tell you about my horrible experience when I stayed there for 3 nights from July 10th till July 13th;
I wanted to iron my dress and when I pluged my iron in the plug I got electricuted and burned my hand and ruined my iron!!
I immediatly rang the reception and as it turned out, the receptionists were completely oblivious to what had happened and when I asked for someone to come up to my room to see what had happened, I was told that there was nothing they could do and if I had a problem I should come down to the reception. After this they hung up on me and then refused to answer when I called back!!
Of course it later turned out that their plugs were completely dreadful ( imagine if one pluged his valuable computer in to the plug, only to have it burned and ruined!!)
Upon leaving, one of the receptionists even called us names in front of other guests!!
Please do not have your stay in Madrid ruined by going there, the service is absolutely abhor, their knowledge of English likewise and furthermore I think it is completely ridiculous that this hotel has been granted 4 stars when their cleaning is poor and the don't even have a computer room!!!!!

This hotel was great, the most important thing is that it was located in a decent working middle class neighborhood. The people are very friendly and it is away from the tourist trap of the gran via. The rooms are very large and you will see plenty of tourists and businessmen here at the hotel. The hotel is blocks away from the Vicente Calderon stadium where the Atletico de Madrid football club play, we watched a game here and walked to get there even at night it was safe. The bus station is located right in front and is an easy way to get to the center of the city near tourist sights, also the metro station Marque de Vladillo was close by. The price is also a bargain in an ever increasingingly expensive Europe.

We stayed at Hotel Praga for 3 nights and it must be the noisiest hotel we have stayed in! The walls are so thin that we could hear the couple chatting in the next room and snoring during the night!
It's a very busy tourist hotel with coach loads arriving all the time (2 am on our last night). Other residents had little respect that others may be sleeping and there was lots of door banging and loud talking in the corridors. This also happened in the mornings, as early as 6 am, as coach loads checked out.
The cleaning staff would start around 8.30 am and would also talk very louldly and at times shout to each other along the corridors. Not good when we were unable to get to sleep until 2 am and then were woken again at 6 am!
You could also hear the people in rooms above, particularly when they were using their bathroom.
We found the reception staff unfriendly and therefore didn't approach them again after our enquiry on our first night.
On a positive note, the rooms were a decent size and clean and the No 23 bus stop is right outside, which is really handy.

The hotel is situated in a residencial area which was a mixed area of shops and cafes and a few nice restuarants.the area seeed safe and was always clean and well maintained. The hotel is located about a five min walk from the metro so you don't need a cab. The hotel is a basicly furnished and the staff are not overly friendly, rooms are small and ours was a bit dark as we had an internal room overlooking a central courtyard this was a good thing as it was a quite room which ment we could keep the windows open all night as the heating in the rooms is Very Very Hot and the controls in the room had no effect on the heat.
on a whole the hotel is clean and functional as long as the rate you pay is right its a good base for a trip to Madrid
Food in the hotel is expensive and not really good value for breakfast try a visit to the cafeteria Orgaz about 3 mins down the road in the direction on of the metro excellent staff and service at a fraction of the cost.
