If you 're looking for just a cheap, over night stop near Eurostar, this is O.K.
Rooms /en-suites are very small, TV is awful and you must have your windows closed otherwise the noise from the trains is Horrendous.
Apart from that it was clean, friendly and what we expected for the money.
Retired couple from London.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Timhotel during our visit to Paris in April 2008. We were there for a week and had no problems at all. The room was small but that is what I expected when I booked it. We got the room for around $100 per night, one of the best prices I could find. The location wasn't bad, a few blocks from the train station but also close to some good restaurants and bars. I don't think the hotel is in the best part of town but we were out late every night and didn't have any problems. Basically I got what I paid for. We had a clean room for an affordable price. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay there again without question. I think this is a good hotel for budget travelers.

We stayed at this inexpensive hotel (by Paris standards) on two seperate occasions within a week of each other. The first room was on the first floor with a window overlooking the "courtyard". The courtyard is just an outdoor stairwell and a bricked in area with a couple of potted plants. The room was a funny shape, but it was functional. The second night we stayed on the ground floor with a room that opened onto the courtyard. That room was a smoking room and it took a while to adjust to the smell. We didn't complain so I don't know if they would have moved us or not. It was also quite a bit louder than the first room due to people walking up and down the stairwell, rolling their luggage across the bricks, and standing outside in the courtyard to talk. Both rooms were short on towels and didn't have any English language tv stations. The shampoo they supply is a body wash/shampoo mixture, so be sure to bring your own shampoo and conditioner. It was 20 euros cheaper to book online than to make a reservation over the phone. The location is great if you are taking trains in and out of Paris as it is a short walk to the Gare du Nord.

I booked it last minute for a one night stay (fortunately only 1 night!). The room was clean and decent sized...thats all. The plumping was so bad that i couldnt stay in the shower long enough to wash my hair, the shower drain was clogging and filling up so i had to get out soon! There were no electrical sockets to be found and it was noisy...you could hear everyone's plumbing; showers, toilets flushing, it sounded like it was in the walls! i didnt get much rest. My tv didnt work but I didnt even bother telling them cause i just went to bed and checked out the next day.
It didnt feel like a real safe location, had i been alone, I wouldnt feel safe stepping outside by myself, being a female.
Overall, not the worst I've seen, at least the toilet flushed and the bed was ok. But I would not return!

Location:
About 2 blocks from the metro. Really close to Gare du Est and Gare du Nord stations. We felt safe walking around hotel around mid-night hours. There are near by internet cafes and restaurants. Far from attractions by foot but relatively close by metro.
Room:
Small ~12 inch TV, not big deal since we didn't go to Paris to watch TV. Room was small. Not extremely small where you can't open your bags but small. No Air-Condition. No hair-dryer. No iron, you could get one from down stairs for a 20 euro deposit. It is a real cheap awful iron. Beds were comfortable and the fold out bed was ok neither bad or good. We couldn't hear any noise except from the room next door that kept slamming his door. Rooms were very clean. ROOM ONLY HAD ONE OUTLET.
Bathrooms:
Very clean. Small no outlets. Had a half shower.
Service:
Normal service would assits when necessary. Spoke English. Not the best nor worst service.
Conclusion:
This hotel is just what we needed. We didn't go to Paris to chill at the hotel. It was comfortable and nearby to the metro so we could go where we please without much hassle. The price was right for what we got. Next time I would probably get one closer to center Paris depending on my budget and purpose of trip. We paid around $100 per night.
