Just came back from a week at the Grand Hi-Lai on business. The front desk warmly greeted us and were very kind. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was good size, with a deep tube and separate shower stall. I had the buffet breakfast every day. There were choices between Western and Chinese food. They bake their bread on site. Eggs made to order (omlets, fried eggs). There are shops and restaurants at the lower level. A Jason's supermarket, along with American fast food, and Asian fare foodcourt is available. The pool, though I did not go in, was quite nice. I would not hesitate to return.

Good location with beautiful views of the city and harbor, spacious rooms with nice decor--slippers and robe with turn down service, many amenities, best part is the amazing, friendly service-oriented staff (most speak english) that will make sure you have a great stay!

We stayed there for one night in August. The hotel is really nice, with great views, and a great buffet upstairs (dinner, breakfast). The gym is amazing - with great pools and workout area. While not a 5-star Four Seasons, it was definitely a 4+ star (a la Intercontinental or Hyatt Regency). Really nice. There was nothing bad to say about the hotel - nothing negative. Check in was easy/checkout was fast. No extra charges - simple, straightforward.

A very friendly and elegant hotel. The room was spacious and clean. All the restaurants within the hotel were good, and the "help your self" breakfast is a true international event. This has got to be the best service, staff and facilities for your dollar (or pound ) that you will get. With the new high speed train to Taipei (1.5 hrs) why stay in Taipei when you can base yourself here? I will be back.

I just came back from a short weekend trip to Kaohsiung and was hit terribly by a stomach flu on the last day. I was most impressed by how their staff took care of me until I boarded my flight to go home. Initially, I enjoyed staying in the spacious room and using their fine fitness facilities but their superb hospitality makes me want to go back next time. Well done, Grand Hi-Lai!
