We arrived at hotel and our reservation was not there. Receptionist was helpful and booked us in anyway. We were put in an executive room which was far from it. The bathroom must have been from the original build as there was plenty of filling of holes in the tiles and it was so small that the poor cat suffered. Bed was top quality and the room was updated but you can't hide wood chip. Two booked into room but there was one bathrobe, one set of toiletries and so on.
The breakfast for a so called four star was poor. The breakfast was cold and when mentioning it to the chief waiter he said "you must be one of the ones that like a hot breakfast" .... it wasn't continental! It was a buffet breakfast and for a four star it doesn't wash. I stay at least 180 nights a year away and this was a bad four star. Bar closed at 12 am on a friday with a good crowd waiting for more drink. Just dissapointed with a hotel with comes under the Hastings brand which I've stayed in before.

I am a business traveller mostly, but stayed here for pleasure recently. Most friendly of staff, nothing is any bother to them. They also have the most comfortable beds of any hotel I've stayed in Ireland, you are assured a good nights sleep. Meals are terrific and would highly recommend this hotel. You are directly opposite the stormont building and a 5 minute taxi ride from city centre, costing about ?8. good value if can be booked on 1800 hotels. Enjoyed my time here and will return

A flying visist on business so I didn't spend much time in the hotel.
The 20 mile journey from the International Airport takes about 20mins by taxi (assuming your driver, like ours, completely ignores the speed limits!) and costs about ?35.
I had a City Room which was a bit disconcerting since the only window opens onto a glass fronted corridor overlooking the main road - a bit like an American motel room. Nevertheless the room was spacious with a big flatscreen and a good choice of TV channels.
Decor was a bit like 4 star meets seaside boarding house - a mixture of good quality and some low cost cabinets. The bathroom was a bit tired looking with a disappointing shower but I appreciated the branded plastic duck and toiletries.
The bed was definately very comfortable with luxurious pillows and I got a very good nights sleep.
Breakfast was a bit limited although the porridge and Bushmills was a nice touch. Full breakfast, toast juice etc. But could have been better. Dining room (shiraz) had a nice outlook onto trees on the Stormont estate.
Front desk staff were efficient and very helpful.
Maybe one of the standard rooms would have been better. Not sure it makes much sense as a tourist hotel - its too far from the airport/town and I'd need a better rate to be convinced about value for money.
