I have just returned from my 6th or 7th stay in the Dauphine. This year, a girlfriend and I stayed there while our husbands went golfing in Canada. Rather than reserving two rooms, we opted for the suite (room 61) so that we would have our own beds and a little more space. The suite proved perfect for two good friends: There's a double bed and a twin bed (that ended up being a trundle bed, so another "double"), an armoire with shelves and a hanging bar, a chest of drawers, some chairs, a desk, and the other usual amenities. The two beds are sort of in separate rooms - a fairly standard sized room for the double bed (and for all of the other furniture, except for the armoire and a chair) and a smaller room for the twin/trundle bed (where the armoire and small chair were located). However, one room leads immediately into the next room (sort of like the 'open space' concept of houses w/ combined living and dining areas), so there is no wall/door separating them. Anyhow, it is a perfect situation for good friends travelling together. Per usual, the staff was wonderful - truly some of the nicest, most helpful folks in the hotel business. They are welcoming and very professional, and are so willing to help their clients feel at home. Although the price of breakfast is a bit more expensive than in some hotels, it is a substantial meal - juice, cereals, breads and pastries, boiled eggs, fresh fruits, yogurts, cheeses, sausages, potatoes, and cafe/tea/hot chocolate. Really, after such a filling meal, my friend and I usually just grabbed an avocado salad for lunch so, in the end, the breakfast was a good price for the equivalent of 1.5 meals! The rooms are all carefully tended, the location of the hotel is unbeatable, and there are many, many restaurants within a 3 to 5 minute walk. Next year, I'll be back to the hotel - with my husband - and we'll look forward to being welcomed by the staff we have come to know and enjoy.

myself and my husband were taking my dad to paris for one night and wanted to be in the centre of things as time was so short but also wanted a quiet decent hotel as my dad is 75. i went on trip advisor and all reviews were good for this hotel. we would normally go for a 4 star or above just to be sure of the quality but went on the advice of over travellers to this 3 star hotel and was so pleased we did. rooms were small, which was expected but were spotlessly clean and of a very decent standard. staff were very very friendly and helpful and made you feel that nothing was too much trouble. breakfast was ok, plenty of it and a good choice. we were close to many sites and found this really helpful. would definately have no problem in recommending this hotel to family or friends and would stay there again. third trip to paris and this was by far the best hotel we have stayed in. we arrived too early to check in but could leave our bags and staff offered to get room ready for us in an hour. considering we had arrived 3 hours too early we thought this was very good of them. if i had to find one thing wrong it would be that there were no coffee/tea facilities in the room but as we were only there for one night and going straight down for breakfast it was not a problem. lots of friendly reasonably priced places to eat in the area as well.

After hours of searching we finally decided on this hotel for our first weekend away without the kids in 14 years - hence we wanted it to be special. We contacted the hotel by email explaining exactly what we wanted and they did not disappoint us. In fact by going direct we got a bonus of breakfast included in the rate. The room was excellent, clean, warm and inviting and parisian. I did not want to wake up where I could have been in any hotel room anywhere in the world - I wanted to know I was in paris!! The bathroom was small and the bath ok for small folk, but it was all spotlessly clean with soft fluffy towels. The lift is small but who spends long in there anyway.
The staff were polite, helpful and there if you needed them - not pushy / arrogant or missing!
The best thing about this hotel is its location. Arriving from the airport its easy to get to on RER B and then a 400m walk. You are very close to the Seine and an easy stroll to the Louvre / Notre Dame / Bvd. St Germain. Many superb restaurants/bistros nearby.
We absolutely loved Paris and hope to return there soon along with the rest of the family. Next time we won't waste hours searching for the perfect Parisian hotel because we have already found it.
