We stayed five nights at Hotel Epsom and our overall impresion was of a very clean hotel with excellent facilities, situated just five minutes from Quai Wilson and Parc Mon repose.
Our room on the 7th floor was clean and spacious with an excellent view of lake Geneva. A plate of home made sweets and hand written welcome note was a nice personal touch on arrival. Other reviews say the rooms can be hot at night, but the air conditioning control is within the room and can be easily adjusted for personal comfort.
The breakfast buffet was delicious and plentiful, containing both English and continental options, and a fantastic choice of fresh fruit too. We also had two lovely melas in the Portabello restaurant bu there is a limited choice of vegetarian food. There are plenty of alternative places to eat in Rue des Paquis, and we enjoyed La Perle du lac just inside the park.
For those who like to keep up a fitenss routine the gym has adquate facilities with dumbells, a weights multigym, several CV machines, towels and iced water.
The staff were friendly and helpful, but a useful addition would be some tourist information to browse either in the lobby or the rooms. We would choose to stay here again either for a holiday or conference trip.

I have stayed many times at the Epsom and the hotel offers a great experience in a super town
In particular the staff, as you woudl indeed expect in Switzerland are excellent particlulary at the front desk where they are at their very best in every way
The rooms are very comfortable with a great bathroom and shower and easy to acess Internet
The restaurant, though small is great for breakfast in particular and there are literally hundreds of good restaurants in Geneva for lunch and dinner
The hotel is well situated close to the lake but set back-which lowers the price of course-and overall very highly recommended

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. On arrival the receptionist at the desk Frikita (not sure if that is the correct spelling of her name) greeted us. She was so professional and friendly and this was a great start to our weekend get away. She made suggestions each day of sites to see and places to eat. She seemed genuinely interested and asked if we enjoyed our outings. She was the nicest, most knowledgable and helpful receptionist I have ever met.
The hotel itself was lovely. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable.
Breakfast was very nice. Tea and coffee are brought to the table promptly and the buffet had a very good selection. I thought it was expensive at 30 sw francs per person, but you are paying 4 star hotel prices.
The only down side was a pair of ear rings that went missing from my friend's room. She reported this to reception who tried to be helpful.
Geneva is a lovely city and everyone we met was very nice. I would highly recommend Epsm Hotel and Geneva.

I was expecting mixed results based on the below reviews...
I got a room (non-smoking, and smelt fine) on the 6th floor, and apparantly it had a lake view; if I craned my neck I could see the lake :-)
One small minor minor annoyance was I couldnt get the flashy red light on the phone for messages to be switched off so at night I resorted to covering it with a towel (even though I called reception to reset the light they couldnt manage it either).
The room was "ok" but I had to switch the aircon off as it was far too hot & stuffy, even when turned down as low as possible. The bathroom was "ok" as well..... the showerhead over the bath was really irritating in terms of spraying everywhere so I resorted to the handheld shower so as not to get my hair wet & the floor soaked. The glass sink had a large crack through it - rather unfortunate but I guess what happens when you put in glass sinks into hotel rooms eventually.....
I would say the space was sufficient but certainly not large or airy
Breakfast was wonderful.... a small but fantastic buffet, where you could boil your own eggs in a special egg boiler - amazing! Piping hot soft boiled eggs exactly as you would like it!
Supper was so-so. I had the risotto of the day/week and it was undercooked to my taste - bit too crunchy, but I was too tired & jetlagged to complain.
The front desk were very friendly and very helpful - particularly on guidance on where to find suitable shops - eg the department store for a birthday card & wrapping paper (although all stores will wrap purchases for you if you tell them it's a present).
They also allowed me to have a late checkout of 2pm as they were fully booked that day, which was helpful as my flight didnt leave until the evening.
The hotel has free WIFI which is great, but I didnt bring my laptop however the "Business Centre" had a few internet computers so all was good!
The best way to get into the town centre in all honesty is to walk - the hotel provides a free transport card which is useful for returning to the airport or travelling around the region, but unless it is raining the 10-15 minute walk along the lakeside through to town is lovely.
Just for info, the taxi fare at the airport is about 30-40 CHF to the city centre depending on where you are travelling. If you're not going direct into Geneva, there is a free train ride ticket available before you pass through customs - look for the booth next to the INFO centre *before you go through customs*.
