We stayed there for 5 nights. The hotel is located by the road, so most of the noise come from there. There is no use trying to close the window in your room, the noise is the same. Just because the gaps between the window itself and the wall are an inch wide. The food was bad, there was almost nothing to choose from. And the staff wasn't friendly, they wouldn't let you choose the table at a breakfast, they want you to sit where they show you. But anyway, we were out most of the day as we had lots of excursions and it was Easter, so food might not be a big deal, but a good night's sleep is worth finding another hotel.

The place is far away from the center of the city, close to the beach. The hotel is unmodern, my room was clean, but the window opened to a busy street with a building site. The English of some staff members was poor. They were not very helpful.
No minibar, no service,a kitchenette with a broken down refrigator and some poor bags of horrible tea - I left the hotel the next day as I did not want to stay there.
Oh - and bring your own soap!

We stayed in Tal Hotel for two nights in Mid March 2008.
The hotel is located at the northern part of HaYarkon street, by the beach in Tel Aviv. It is not close to all of the other main hotels in Tel Aviv but its location has two advantages: It has a beautiful beach less than 5 minutes walking distance and it is by the new Tel Aviv port area which offers shops, caffes and restaurants to hang out.
The disadvantage of the location is that it is on a main street that may be noisy and that parking is very limited (although I do not recommend hiring a car in Tel Aviv at all).
The rooms are modern and big enough. They do not offer sea side view at all. Everything was clean, breakfast was nice and the hotel staff was very nice and friendly.
The price is incomparable to the regular prices in Tel Aviv and hence offer a very good option for those who want to stay in the city but not pay $200 per room per night.

I want to thank Tal Hotel staff for the wonderful job they did accommodating our recent delegation while we were in Tel-Aviv.
The new rooms were very nice and comfortable.
Most importantly the staff is amazing. Everyone at the front desk was friendly and helpful.
Pressman Los Angeles Academy's exchange with the Magen school (sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles, Tel Aviv partnership) was filled with a variety of activities ranging from the educational to the entertaining.
Having Tal hotel as a home-base is very comforting.
Thanks again to the entire staff for marking us "feel at home".

Unmodern lower middle-class hotel

Tal Hotel is situated at the end of haYarkon street in Nothern Tel Aviv. It takes something about 20-30 minutes to walk to city centre (Dizengoff, Allenby, King George streets). There is no comfortable civilized beach near the hotel. On the other hand , Tal located in 7-10 minutes walk to Park Hayarkon (Yehoshua Gardens) along the Yarkon River. A wonderful place for outdoor sports and activities! Briefly, Tal is unmodern lower middle-class hotel with good, but not remarkable kitchen.
