We stayed at the Chateau Frontenac for two nights in Feb 2007. Nice hotel and decent location (just 5 mins from the Arc De Triomphe on the Champs Elysees). Quite pricey and the rooms weren't exactly huge, but then what do you expect in Paris I guess? Still, hotel was clean, service was polite and efficient so basically got what we wanted.
Location-wise there were a number of bars and restaurants nearby (try the japanese just down the street - excellent food!) and plenty of metro stops in the area. Well worth considering for a short break.

As first time visitor to Paris, you cant beat the location of this hotel. Close to everything and transportation. The staff was friendly and tolerant of my limited French. The breakfast is very pricey but very good as well.

We chose the Frontenac for this trip, based on our past experience with this hotel. I'd stayed here multiple times on business over the last 15 years, and my wife had stayed there with friends more recently. We've stayed in other hotels and areas in Paris, but prefer the Frontenac. This stay was for 5 nights.
Our reasons to love and return to this hotel:
We've found the Frontenac to be, refreshingly, unpretensious.
Location. Between the Geo V and Champs, what can be better?
Price is median or above, but again, location and 4 stars, so you get what you pay for.
Friendly, helpful, clean, consistent, the list goes on...
We'll be back, but not soon enough.

The hotel is a short walking distance from the Franklin D. Roosevelt or George V metro stations. Easy to get to all of the sights of Paris by foot or metro. Very nice, elegant decor. Our standard room was just right for the two of us. Clean and comfortable. Everyone at the front desk was pleasant and helpful. Breakfast would have been 23 euros (yikes!), but was included in our hotel booking. Everything was tasty and there was a large selection. Our only complaint was the extremely small servings of coffee and juice. I would stay here again, no question.
