I love the Kummer hotel and stay here everytime I'm in Vienna. HOWEVER, I've never been to Vienna in the summer. The hotel does not have A/C. They will give you a small fan but it dosn't make a difference when the room is over 100 degrees. It is also too noisy to open a window for air since the hotel is located between two very busy and noisy streets. It's a shame since the location of the hotel is perfect especially if you like to shop. The breakfast is wonderful and the staff is very helpful. I can recommend this hotel for fall and winter stays only. The hotel has an old European charm to it.

Ho alloggiato in quest’hotel nel 1979, in occasione della mia luna di miele. Ci siamo fermati per una settimana e, considerato che si tratta di un hotel 3 stelle, noi l’abbiamo trovato davvero eccezionale. Era assolutamente adeguato al prezzo che abbiamo pagato. L’addetto alla ricezione ci è stato molto d’aiuto, ci ha persino dato un catalogo di tutte le escursioni disponibili. Siamo andati sulle Alpi e il pullman è venuto a prenderci sulla porta dell’hotel. La colazione era ottima, era stile continentale, ma con una gran varietà di panini, croissant, formaggi, patè, ecc., era un vero e proprio banchetto. Spero di tornare presto a Vienna e di certo alloggerò di nuovo al Kummer. È vicinissimo ai negozi e a breve distanza dai musei e dagli edifici storici. Le finestre avevano i doppi vetri, quindi non si sentiva il minimo rumore. La camera era enorme e il letto grandissimo. Consiglio quest’hotel a tutti, tenete presente che io ci sono stato 28 anni fa, ma non vedo per quale motivo dovrebbe essere cambiato.

I visited this hotel in 1979 on my honeymoon. I stayed there for a whole week and it was incredible, being only a 3 star hotel. It was worth the price we paid for it. The receptionist helped us out very well and even gave us a catalogue of all the tours available. We visited the Alps and the coach collected us from the hotel doorstep. The breakfast was beautiful, it was continental but the variety of rolls, croisants, cheeses, pate was enormous - it was like a banquet. I hope to go again to Vienna and I will definitely stay in the Kummer again. It is very near the shopping centre and within walking distance of all the museums and historical buildings. The windows were double-glazed so you could not hear a pin drop. The room was enormous with a huge bed. I would recommend it to all although bear in mind that when I visited it was 28 years ago but I don't see why it should have changed.

Nice hotel, some people say it is worn out, but maybe we were lucky with the room. I would not stay there with a family, but as a business person you kind of get the old Vienna feeling.

Il Kummer è considerato un hotel 4 stelle, ma nella maggior parte dei Paesi sarebbe un semplice 3 stelle. Nel periodo in cui ero lì faceva un gran caldo e di notte non si riusciva a dormire, perchè l’hotel non dispone di un impianto di aria condizionata!!! Dopo diverse lamentele, le camere “business” (soltanto) sono state equipaggiate con ventilatori economici. Lati positivi: la posizione centrale, l’hotel è vicino ai negozi, alla metro e alle fermate degli autobus; l’accesso Internet gratuito; l’atrio imponente. Conosco Vienna piuttosto bene, per il prezzo che ho pagato al Kummer, avrei potuto alloggiare in un posto migliore di questo.
