Reasonable Maritim hotel, staff spoke excellent english, food was reasonable. Room functional....locationwise its handy for the main station and about a 10 minute walk from the xmas market (best in germany).
We had a comfort room with a decent size and a decent bathroom.
For the brits, no tea making facilities in the room so everything is room service, but you dont need to sell a kidney for a cup of tea, everything is reasonable.
Basically very much in line with my experience of their stuttgart hotel, seems to be a very consistant chain in terms of service offering and level of service. Hard to find at times these days.....
Will probably use another of their hotels in 2008.

Maritim Hotel, Nurnberg, lived up to our expectations--and more! I booked this hotel because it was within walking distance of the Chriskindlesmartk in the Old City as well as the Hauptbonhof (main train station). It also has a four star rating, which was my initial criteria. From our first encounter with the front desk to our reluctant good-bye, we were entranced! Friendly staff who spoke English (although my husband is fluent in German) superb buffet breakfast, large rooms with comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms all worked together to make us feel welcomed. Unlike hotels in the US, you do pay to park your car, so be prepared for that (not cheap!). We could easily walk to the center of the Old City and the Chriskindlesmartk, which was our reason for being in Nurnberg during Christmas. We would stay here again!

Everything was good. We were travelling in a group but still received individual attention, e.g a choice at dinner and freshly cooked food. Great swimming pool, kept very clean.

Ok, so it is not the best hotel that I have ever stayed in, but I feel that I got a very good room, with good amenities for a very good price (certainly better than I normally get in the UK).
The bed was comfortable, the room was a great size and the seating area was as good as I have known.
Room service was fine, and the staff that I came into contact with very pleasant and helpful.
The only complaint that I have is that the internet access did not work, and despite various attempts at new cables I eventually had no option but to pay for the T-mobile Hotspot service.
The location is very good for exploring the walled city, as well as for the Nuremberg subway system (12 minutes to the airport for €1.80 as opposed to €16 for a taxi).
