Guest type: Honeymoon
stayed in May 2008
Rooms : Spacious, clean and beautiful
Breakfast : Delicious with high variety
Location : Near city centre
Receptionists: Hm, Friendly in general. One or two are a bit snobby , possibly they would rather see princes at the hotel , but i did not really care about that.
Tip : Let water run for one or two minutes ,prior to having a shower, just for it to start getting warmer, unless you like having cold showers.
Higlhy recommended hotel in a not so highly recommended for tourism city .

I chose this hotel based on low price and location. If you're willing to walk, as I did, or take the trolley to all of the important tourist
attractions of Milan, the location is fine. You will not be in the middle of it all. The neighborhood, near the university area, is a little downmarket, but hardly threatening. The hotel was a bit antiquated, but clean. Free bedroom slippers were provided along with the staple toiletires. The breakfast buffet was solid for the price; several good choices each morning. There was a computer with free internet access, which I found a pleasant surprise. My only fault with the room, which I could have amended with a complaint, was that I was given a room near the street, directly above the front door. I heard the trolleys going by all evening and then start up again very early in the morning. Not conducive to good sleep. Overall, however, the hotel wasn't so bad for the budget price.

I stayed here for 8 nights while taking a class through an exchange program with Bocconi SDA (university). The rooms are quite small, as are the bathrooms. The A/C is hit-or-miss depending on the room you're in, but the hotel staff is relatively accommodating in resolving any problems. There is a good deal of street noise throughout the night, as the street train runs right outside the hotel along the street. Additionally, Bligny is a well-traveled street, so there is noise. Bring earplugs to sleep if you're a light sleeper.
This hotel is a 5 min walk to Bocconi SDA if you have business there. It is a 10 min. walk to the underground station and a 20 min. walk to the Duomo/galleria.
Overall, it's not a terrible hotel, but there are surely better options in Milan.

Just OK

We stayed two nights in this hotel in the beginning of June. We were two adults and two children and had booked a junior suite in order to
be able to stay in the same room. This turned out to be impossible
though as the manager claimed that even those are too small for 2+2 people. It didn't help that we stated that our kids (7 & 4 years old)
could share an extra bed or even sleep on a mattress on the floor. However we were offered two rooms next to each other almost for the price of the junior suite which we thought was an OK solution.
The rooms were very clean and nice but very small and everything in the room worked very well.
An interesting detail happened to a friend of ours who was staying in the same hotel though. He asked to borrow an iron to be able to iron his shirt as we were attending a wedding. The staff responded that they don't have one in the hotel and that it is forbidden to do ironing in the rooms!
Breakfast was served but wasn't anything special. There was one type of bread, cereals, yoghurt and fruits offered along with coffee / tea and juice.
All in all the stay was OK but definitely nothing special. I would probably not choose this hotel again as there must be more
interesting and nicer ones in Milan.
