There are 162 rooms in a 6-storey main building and a 6-storey neighboring building, of which 4 are singles, 125 are doubles and 33 are suites. All the rooms are air-conditioned and decorated in a traditional style with patterned fabrics. The available conveniences include bathrooms with jetted tubs and showers, bathrobes and slippers, dial-up Internet access, satellite television, minibars, safes, fax, and direct dial phone allowing conference calls with up to six persons.

Location

The Hotel is located on the famous Wenceslas Square directly in the centre of Prague within a walking distance of all historical and cultural sights and shopping areas. The nearest sights are Old Town Square (in 400 metres), the National Museum (within one kilometer), Charles Bridge, Charles University, Old Town Hall, St. Nicolas Church, National Theater and Petrin View Tower. Mustek metro station is 100 metres away and Prague Airport is in 11 Kilometer from the hotel. Besides there are department stores, luxury shops and theatres, and a large number of private restaurants, cafes and clubs.

We arrived late at night. but check-in service was great, Our room was a generous size (as was the bathroom). The beds however, were not very comfortable. We stayed there for four nights, and loved how easy it was to walk everywhere. The breakfast was included in the price of the room, and was fantastic. a couple of draw backs....absolutely no view from our room (it looked out the back of the hotel....into another wing of the building). No temperature control...the room was very hot, so we opened up the windows to let the room cool down. We could not ask for a better location, we even went out at night and felt very safe.

Recently returned from stay at the Ambassador found the hotel to be very good except for one elderly staff member who was not that helpful, the hotel itself is perfectly placed in the midst of everything, nightlife, shops etc. once inside the hotel all the city hustle disappears, food is good, rooms clean and a decent size with a large ensuite, perhaps a little dated. The hotel was a five star at some stage but maybe a good four star now.

If you ever have to stay in this hotel don't let anything with a bit of value in your room, there are theft in the staff and they are protected by the hotel manager. And if you can avoid this hotel, it's better for you! I had a business suit stolen in my room, obviously by an indelicate staff member. Handling of the issue by the reception staff and manager was a huge failure, with very little concern, and definitely not the way that you can expect in a 5-star hotel.

this hotel is extremely comfortable and is in great location, being in Wenceslas Square but at the edge of the prettier Old Town. Room was spacious and jacuzzi bath very welcome after walking the cobblestones. We were able to secure a three nights for the price of two deal which made it very good value
