We stayed at this Hotel earlier this month for one night. We were on a driving tour of Austria. It was a little difficult to locate but once we found it, it exceeded our expectations. It had free, secure on-site parking, it was handy to the main sights in Salzburg and the staff, particularly the lady who was on duty when we arrived, were excellent.
Our rooms were clean and comfortable and the room rates were modest (for Austria!). Breakfast was typical of what we had been offered in similar hotels in Austria. Had we more time, we would have stayed an extra night.

Stayed at the Mozart for 3 nights in May 08. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. We had a room on the 5th floor with good views of the mountains. The clean rooms were a decent size and had a comfortable bed and a decent bathroom. The only negative is that there is no air conditioning, so I'd imagine it would get really warm in the height of summer and you'd need the windows open, making it a bit more noisy. But this wasn't really an issue when we stayed.
The breakfast was quite good - usual continental mix of cereals, fruits, bread, cheese etc.
The hotel is in the new town - 5 minute walk from the Mirabell Gardens, and about 10/15 minutes to the heart of the old town, so everything is in easy walking distance.
Salzburg is a really lovely place and I would recommend the hotel Mozart for location, friendly staff and value for money. I would definitely stay there again.

Hotel Mozart is located in a lovely area close to restaurants, shops and tourist spots
Attractive and relaxed atmosphere
Reception staff were a delight, welcoming, knowledgeable and very helpful
Rooms were spotlessly clean attractive and spacious. Very comfortable beds. The only fault was lack of air conditioning during a very hot spell
Minibar was useful though and not too expensive
Breakfast buffet was very good, a large choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, sliced meat, cheeses and delicious local breads
Very attentive and friendly service
No tea or coffee in rooms but staff were more than happy to make us hot drinks when in the lounge
Staff also booked trips for the sound of music tour and the coach picked us up at the hotel door
We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend the hotel to others and definitely stay there again
TIP. Food and drinks are less expensive on the hotel side of the river (less touristy)
Definitely visit the Balcony bar at the top of Hotel Stein (overlooking the river). Great cocktails and snacks with a fantastic view and beautiful people. You just take the lift to the top floor, open to non-residents and very posh toilets!
Friendly, central and very comfortable.

Our family of 6 people stayed here for 2 nights, renting 2 triple rooms. This hotel is not in the old city but across the river and still in a nice area. We were able to walk to everything and there were some good restaurant choices near to the hotel. They were helpful in booking our Sound of Music tour. The receptionist was always very cheerful and helpful. We were in a top floor but still heard some noise from the street below (windows open in summer). Perhaps lower floors would be even noisier. Also, we had a car and the tiny parking lot was an issue and they allowed people (staff?) to double park. There was a good bit of waiting for someone to move his car at one time. Overall, I can recommend if you need a Salzburg hotel with family rooms.
