DO NOT STAY HERE,unless your looking for a party and not a place to sleep!! We stayed here during the Mobicon Conference, which no one warned us about. They put us in an inside room, where everyone from Mobicon was staying. The partying went on until after 3am. We complained about the loud, drunk people directly outside our room, but nothing was done. We had an elderly woman and 2 small children in our room. We were all kept awake by the constant laughing and screaming, all night long. When we complained to the person at the desk during our check out,his response was that we should have kept calling all night, that he didnt have magic ears. They didnt offer any apologies or try to discount our room, they just said they couldnt help it,that this goes on every year. Apparently its the guests place to keep up with the other guests, your pretty much on your own here. The outside pools were closed, and they couldnt even tell us when they might reopen. The staff was less than friendly and the hotel is not what is advertised.

My buds and I were down for a cruise on the Carnival Holiday and booked this place as a resting spot the night before. We were very pleased with it. There are two parts of this hotel, we made sure we booked in the front part, through the atrium.
They let us check in early (arrived at 1pm local time) and had no problems what so ever. The room was big, clean and overlooked the back parking lot (ok, the view wasn't great). There were the usual carts there at the door which made carrying out stuff up to the room easy. To my disappointment, there was no referigerator in our room, although there are rooms that have them.
It's pretty close to the night life and causeway there in Mobile, so, using the GPS, we had no problem finding restaurants, bars, within a few miles. I noticed where others had a hard time finding it.... we didn't have a problem at all. I had researched it's location and knew about the little turn off right at the exit... no problem at all.
Staying here, Do go and eat the breakfast. It was great. We were highly surprised by the selection. We thought for sure, bagels and toast.... but NOPE, we're talking bacon, sausage, grits, hash browns, cereal, toast, milk, coffee, and on and on. As much as we ate, we would have easily paid another 10 bucks a piece at a Waffle House or IHOP,... so we figured we saved some money there.
The cheapest rate we could find was actually calling the site on the phone rather than Orbitz, Travelocity or the others. We booked for $85/night.. which was about what we paid.
Overall, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, safe place, inexpensive, right before a cruise. They also let you keep your car parked there and can get a taxi over to the ship, but I don't believe you are saving that much money that way.

Even with my Google map and notes on how to get here, this was a difficult hotel to reach. Not find, REACH, because of its location at an Interstate junction. You have to find just the right lane, otherwise you could end up blocks away before being able to turn around.
This is basically a big roadside hotel with a motel extension around back. The hotel part had the indoor pool and bar you'd expect in these places, while out back you had the usual drive-up-and-park rooms. The whole place was a bit non-descript. Clean but comfortable. I honestly don't remember much else about it, aside from the big cooked breakfast buffet (eggs, biscuits, sausages, etc). Though you aren't waited on, the cooks and porters appreciate your tips.
Check-in was a breeze. It sounds like they have many people staying here using the local airport, as they offered a shuttle service. The location is convenient for travellers, but having the Interstate so close and being surrounded by weird slip roads, tricky exits and bland strip malls meant the neighbourhood was of no interest whatsoever.

I don't believe this is now a Best Western -- no such signage was evident, nor did the toiletries or folio say anything about Best Western. We needed a pre-cruise hotel because we were traveling 500 miles to cruise on the Carnival Freedom, and that is about all we used the hotel for. I was a little apprehensive because the reviews we had seen said either 1-2 or 4-5, but the stay was very adequate for our purposes, especially for the money (about $80). The king room was very pleasant and even had a microwave and fridge, which we didn't use because we didn't expect to find it. Same for the lobby bar, which was open, even on Sunday evening. The room had a small coffeemaker, but there was fresh coffee at the bar in the morning, so we just drank that. The facility has an adjacent conference center, which houses the complimentary hot breakfast buffet featuring a very nice selection of items. That room is certainly pleasant enough for breakfast and we felt no need to take our food back to the room, as some reviewers had complained about. The TV lineup includes Fox News, which is important to me and by no means universal in hotels -- or Carnival :-( There is a complimentary shuttle to other local businesses and malls, again not used by us. I wish it had run to the cruise terminal, but I had searched the Mobile area and couldn't find any hotel with a park and cruise package. I guess this is because almost all cruisers out of Mobile live in LA -- Lower Alabama:-) or the Florida panhandle so it is a local trip for them. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a pre-cruise stay for those who come in from out of the area for a cruise.
