The maids steal whatever you leave behind, and the staff there were EXTREMELY unfriendly

I was travelling on an extended cross Canada trip for business when I stayed at the Monte Carlo Inn Oakville Suites. The room was spacious but the lighting was poor. In order to charge my laptop I had to unplug the desk lamp which made the lighting even dimmer. My digital camera had to be recharged in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the room that I occupied was fairly isolated from the 401 road noise.
The convenience of a fridge, microwave and coffeemaker was handy and these were clean and operational. One thing I always appreciate is the quality of a hotel's towels.....these were small (I am not a large person and they were difficult to wrap around) and were also worn.
Although I travel extensively and need to sometimes "roll with the punches", I do take exception when there are unpleasant surprises. Upon checking out it was discovered that there was an extra $10.00 charge per day for use of the cable to hook into the internet!? When this was questioned, it was stated that only wireless was free......which is astounding as there was absolutely no wireless signal available! I found that to be both disturbing and not totally up front on the part of the hotel management or staff.
Overall, I would not stay in this spot again.

We were pleased with our choice of this hotel for our recent brief visit to Toronto. The room was good, but smelt a little of stale smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. We were so tired though that we were able to ignore it and go straight to sleep. I am fairly confident that if it had bothered us enough we could have been moved to another room. The breakfast was good and plentiful and was constantly replenished. It consisted of tea, coffee, juice, fresh fruit, cereals, toast, bagels, english muffins and pastries and was served in a pleasant and spacious room. It was an easy drive into downtown Toronto for the day. Overall, good value for money.

We stayed at the Monte carlo Inn in Oakville to be handy for the Airport and Toronto, Main idea to use the GO Train into the city, the Station was two blocks away, as it was raining we drove BUT it would have been EASIER to WALK as the station car park was full.. The Hotel was very clean and tidy, very quiet, our room wasnt ready so we were given an upgrade!! staff friendly and helpful. we paid $89 per night which included an excellent breafast.. WILL Stay Again!!
