I reserved 5525 Sloane Ave and didn't realize that I was bound to pay a deposit. I booked through Loving London Apartments and Kevin was very helpful and called Chelsea Cloisters within a day to cancel my reservation. They were very good about it and did not charge me the deposit. I called Chelsea Cloisters and the woman on the phone was also very pleasant. I was really pleased they treated me fairly and well after reading some of the negatively posted reviews.

There are many better serviced apartments in the area.
My biggest complaint is the length of time that they hold your deposit. I left on November 25 and here it is January 2 and they still have my $1700!
Repeated phone calls have gotten me nowhere - they claim staff illness and holidays as the reason, but I feel it is a big scam!
BEWARE - this is the biggest rip off I have experienced in 30 years of travels to the UK!

This is my short account of a lovely 2 Weeks at chelsea cloisters.
I and my boyfriend had nothing but wonderful service from all members of the staff and our one bedroom fully serviced apartment was well maintained ,beautifully cleaned by the daily maid service without doubt.Chelsea Cloisters is superbly located for our London sight seeing tours. To sum up - Chelsea Cloisters is not a four star hotel, it is a large resdential block, and suited our needs perfectly. We will most certainly return next year.
To the people who have complained, which they have perfect right to if they have genine complaints, all I can say: from the amount of people staying in CC, the complainers are certainly a very small minority, as we never heard or saw any reason to make issue with the staff or the building.

Mold, ants, mattresses from 1975 and poor management

We have stayed here for a period of three months and would not recommend this place for either a short or long-term stay.
Other than the mold in the closet, ants and grime build-up in the bathroom, the studio apartment we stayed in was relatively clean. The cleaning staff is very nice other than the maid who threw out $300 worth of our clothing. The staff management is incredibly unresponsive in fixing problems within the flat (removal of mold, fixing leaks due to heavy rains, repairing the washer/dryer, etc.). Finally the original double bed within the flat was stamped 1975 and not surprisingly increadibly uncomfortable. The staff went on to replace it with a twin mattress that fell short of the box spring. The third mattress we received was not any better. Due to the age of the box spring (I assume 1975), matching mattresses are no longer made and we were forced to use a larger mattress which hung over the box spring by a foot on each side. This would have been satisfactory if the mattress was comfortable.
To be honest I have had better accommodations in developing countries. Chelsea Cloisters should be ashamed and embarrassed by the state of their apartments for let as well as the poor management.
