I spent five nights there with a group of friends and it was horrible. In front of the Mirasol Hotel there is bar-pizzaria. Everynight, loud recorded music was played till 4 A.M!! Last wednesday, some 100 people watched a soccer game on a big screen placed by the owner. They played percussions, screamed, sang till 2 AM. The local police was called by the manager but it did not came. A couple of brazilian friens who live beside told us it has been happening for two years. So, we took our bags and left.

Let's start with the cons: not on the beach and needs updating. The pros: - Excellent service, will go the extra mile for you - The breakfast is just amazing - even better than the old Meridien - Rooms are dated but comfortable - A jet tub is an amazing goody... I really enjoyed staying there.

The Mirasol is what I consider to be a secondary hotel, meaning that is not on the beach, but close enough to not be an issue. For being 2 blocks away from the water, you save a lot of money and lose little in terms of service. I compare this hotel with the Excelsior that is located on the beach. They both have medium sized rooms, average breakfasts, small gyms, and small rooftop pools. The security at both hotels is the same, the clientele appears to be similar, and the staff is equally friendly. The difference in price is about 100-200 USD more to be on Av. Atlantica versus 2 blocks away. The room was a bit dated, but quite nice. The air cond is either on or off. The bar and towel service at the pool was minimal and needed prodding to stick around, often requiring a phone call to reception for towels to be stocked. The breakfast was pretty good, average Brazilian stuff. All in all I would stay here again and recommend it to all. Don't bother getting an upgraded room, you only get a king size bed plus a sauna. Seriously, who needs a sauna in their room when it's 90+ degrees outside?

Ich würde das Mirasol als Hotel in zweiter Reihe bezeichnen, womit ich sagen will, dass es nicht direkt am Strand liegt, sondern so nahe daran, dass es fast keinen Unterschied ausmacht. Und durch die Tatsache, dass es zwei Blöcke vom Meer entfernt liegt, spart man auch noch viel Geld, ohne dass einem dabei viel entgeht. Ich sehe dieses Hotel auf einem Niveau mit dem Excelsior am Strand. Beide Hotels haben durchschnittlich große Zimmer, ein durchschnittliches Frühstück, einen kleinen Fitnessraum und einen kleinen Pool auf dem Dach. Beide Hotels haben auch den gleichen Sicherheitsstandard, die Gäste sind ähnlich und das Personal ist in beiden Hotels freundlich. Der einzige Unterschied liegt im Preis. An der Av. Atlantica kostet ein Zimmer 100 bis 200 US-Dollar mehr als zwei Straßenblöcke dahinter. Das Zimmer war schon etwas älter, aber noch ganz okay. Die Klimaanlage war entweder an oder aus. Der Bar- und Handtuchservice am Pool war minimal und man musste oft lang warten oder sogar an der Rezeption anrufen, damit Handtücher gebracht wurden. Das Frühstück war ganz gut, typisch brasilianische Küche. Alles in allem würde ich wieder in dieses Hotel gehen und kann es auch weiterempfehlen. Nehmen Sie aber keinen Upgrade, man bekommt nur ein großes Doppelbett und eine Sauna extra. Und wer braucht schon eine Sauna auf dem Zimmer, wenn es draußen über 30 Grad heiß ist?

El Mirasol es lo que yo considero un hotel secundario, es decir, que no está en la playa, pero que está lo suficientemente cerca para que no sea un problema. Para estar a dos manzanas del agua, te ahorras mucho dinero y pierdes muy poco en cuanto a servicios. Comparo este hotel con el Excelsior, que está situado en la playa. Ambos tienen habitaciones de tamaño medio, desayunos promedios, pequeños gimnasios, y pequeñas piscinas en el tejado. La seguridad en ambos hoteles es la misma, la clientela parece ser similar, y el personal es igual de simpático. La diferencia en el precio es de alrededor de 100-200 USD, más por estar en la Av. Atlántica comparado con estar a dos manzanas. La habitación estaba un poco pasada de moda, pero bastante agradable. El aire acondicionado está encendido o apagado. El bar y el servicio de toallas en la piscina era mínimo, y necesitaban que los incordiaras para que estuvieran al tanto, y amenudo tenías que llamar a la recepción para que abastecieran las toallas. El desayuno estaba bastante bueno, las cosas normales brasileñas. En general, me alojaría de nuevo allí y se lo recomiendo a todos. No se molesten en conseguir una habitación mejor, ya que sólo conseguirás una cama tamaño king y un sauna. De verdad, ¿quién necesita un sauna en su habitación cuando está a más de 32ºC afuera?
