You can walk late at night and see the neighbors hanging outside. Found the area to be safe and quiet in the morning. Not much trafic there. It?s located a few blocks away from the beach and Siqueira Campos Subway station. Plan on walking quite a bit. The street only runs in one direction, so take that into consideration if you take a cab. Staff is somewhat friendly. Breakfast is the usual brazilian buffet type with fruits, sweet breads, ham and cheese. The downside is that coffee is served by the waiter, so you may get one cup of coffee if he?s not busy. No tea in sight. Plus side: Value!! I?d stay here again, but got a work out walking to the bus/subway station sveral times a day.

Stayed in this hotel during Carnival 2005. Hotel was great! The room was clean with new furnitures. Buffet breakfast was delicious. There is an internet room for free. The hotel agents were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is near Copacobana beach. You can walk there in 2 minutes. There are also restaurants and shops around the area. The hotel also has a list of day tours to provide. They have day tours to exotic islands, soccer game, night tours to a show, Sugar Loaf, Corcovado, Petropolis, etc... They also will help you get a taxi to the airport. I highly recommend that you ask for their help to get you a taxi coz taxi drivers will hussle tourists(charge you with alot of money plus drive you around in circles that you may lose time). Taxi is about $20 USD to the airport. A great mall for shopping is Rio Sul mall. We paid about $100 USD per night for this 3.5 star hotel. The most important thing about this hotel is that they ensure that you are safe throughout this trip. They will give you advice on anything you need to know about Rio De Janeiro.
