Good recently rebuilt hotel, excellent location, helpfull and friendly staff gave me good tips about the town and beaches. Good swiming pool and breakfest. Old air conditioning and TV could be improved.

Even though the city of Fortaleza (the hotel´s location) offered little for the tourist, the Ponta Mar Hotel was a most welcome and pleasant surprise! Expecting the worst because of its location, the hotel was: 1. Very clean as were the rooms, and for roughly around $UD 50 a night they were of reasonable size too. 2. Well staffed with most "front of house" staff speaking English. For the staff who could not speak English, attempts were made promptly to find someone who could. 3. Situated across from the beach, but more importantly, it had a supermarket type deli around the block. Fortaleza as a city has little to offer and most things required you getting into a cab, but finding a hotel with a convenience store behind it was perfect. 4. Generous with its food. The continental breakfast (free with your $50 a night) was extensive to say the least. The choice of cold meats, warm foods such as (eggs, bacon), cakes, juices, and fruits was most impressive. 5. In need of more deck chairs around the pool, but otherwise the pool was great. Its depth was appropriate and the pool staff were great too. It also had a free gym (not just a bike, but hand weights, pec deck, barbells etc). Overall, I would say for the price of this hotel and its location, this is a very good hotel. I would recommend it highly!
