Just got back from a 5 day break at the Palmeraie Village. The hotel service was indeed poor as previous reviews state in terms of front desk and ordering taxis it was really unreliable. The apartment was llovely we were given a 2 bed instead of 1 and it was really nicely furnished with intricate wooden carved high ceilings and nice tiling. The pool was really nice and the pool restaurant service was good. We had really nice food here especially the Sunday BBQ although it was pricey compared to the Medina. The Golf Palace is a hotel that has definately had its day. It was dead, club shut and the facilities decidedly average. The best part was the lovely piano bar but drinks vastly overpriced. The food in the Morrocan restaurant at the Golf Palace was not great and the music awful! We much preferred venturing out for dinner, I recommend Marrakchi in the main square for Morrocan food, Crystal at Pacha was the most high quality mneal and an amazing atmosphere, as was Nikki Beach for lunch and for belly dancers and a fun glam night out try Le Comptoir in the Hivernage. We hired a moped for 3 days and it only cost us 600 dm it was great as we didnt have to rely on the hotel transpotation to go to town. One word of warning!!! Some people we met there were out one night and came back to find they had been robbed- laptop, sunglasses camera everything so make sure you lock your doors and we put our electric shutters down at night. Had a great time but Marrakech is not for the faint hearted be prepeared to haggle over every price for taxis and shopping.
