Modern hotel, centrally placed in the Providencia area of Santiago. The rooms were functional including air con & safe, beds comfortable and above all our third floor room was quiet, even though it over looked the front of the hotel and was next to the lift. Reception staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was fine. We did visit the roof top terrace - but found the pollution in Santiago too much to cope with, even in February!
The close proximity to restaurants, cafes, shops and the metro for quick access to the city centre was the real bonus. In particular, we enjoyed a very good meal at an up market fish restaurant on La Conception (white building on right hand side - sorry unable to remember its name).

I just got back from a trip to Chile and Easter Island. I stayed in two different rooms at Eurotel in Providencia because I checked out to take a trip to Valpo and Vina. Both were nice and clean, similar in style to most American hotels (think Sheraton, etc.). The staff spoke enough English to help me out with what I needed. Eurotel is close to the Los Leones Metro stop and there are a lot of good restaurant choices close by. Roll's Bar (sushi) was great and Castana had good empanada's for a cheap lunch. The breakfast buffet at Eurotel was pretty good, too.

I spent four days in Santiago last week. I arrived on December 28 and stayed until January 2 2008. The hotel is located in a very pleasant area, lot´s of restaurants and the metro is near. The breakfast is nice as the rooms. The problem are the deskfront...they are not helpfull, they look like a group of persons that are not available for help the tourists. I would like to say that if you need some information, ask for a executive taxi driver called Mauricio Rojas. He is always in front of the hotel, his taxi servives the hotel and he is a wonderful person.

We gained a very positive impression of the Eurotel when we stayed for seven nights in one of the apartments at the beginning of our month long tour of South America. Indeed, we considered it the best of all the accommodation that we stayed in.
On our return, having left our daughter in Bolivia, we did not consider it necessary to have an apartment and instead stayed in a double room in the hotel.
This proved to be a big mistake! The room 518 was small and grubby. The air conditioning dripped profusely shortly after being switched on. There was a problem with the door lock....getting in always resulted in a return to reception to enlist the help of the technician. A real inconvenience when tired and weary! There was also a problem with the toilet flushing.
For the $5 per night difference in price the apartment was much better value and all together a much more pleasant experience.
The staff were friendly and polite. However, despite our
protestations none of the problems reported were resolved in the three days that we were there.
In addition we were disappointed that the taxi that we had been assured, the previous evening, would collect us at the airport, did not show. Particularly as we were then conned, by someone who claimed to be an airport official, and paid double the rate for a taxi to the hotel! Beware!
While disappointed by our experience we would certainly return to an apartment at the Eurotel. The complimentary breakfast and
other meals provided in the restaurant are excellent.

This hotel almost destroyed our stay in Santiago. We had booked 6 weeks prior, confirmed with a faxed credit card and received an emailed confirmation. On arrival at the airport late at 9pm, there was no airport pick-up as had been arranged. we called from the airport to be told that we our reservation was not at El Bosque but at Providencia and there was no record of our airport pickup. Not believing this to be true, we caught a taxi to El Bosque, to be then told that our reservation had been cancelled as they did not receive our credit card number. Another lie!!
This hotel was full they said. They did provide a taxi to Providencia but the room they showed us was across the road in what looked like a student dorm building. Eventually we ended up in a twin bed room right next to the lift. To top it off, they refused to charge the appropriate rate for this room, saying management had said that all rooms were US$170 this week. So we paid a suite price for a crappy room.
The only positives were a quiet location and comfy beds.
