We had trouble finding hotels due to a large conference in town, but ended up booking here. The hotel is very lovely, with clean rooms, well-tended grounds (including courtyards), a very nice continental breakfast with very fresh fruit and some hot selections and attentive staff. The free wi-fi worked well.
There are only a few caveats: there's no elevator, and this might be trouble if you have a third floor room. The hotel is right in the historic centre, and while convenient and many good restaurants around, it can be noisy in the evening, though after midnight it quieted down. The doors didn't seal all the way, but this was a minor complaint.

I stayed at this hotel for 12 nights while leading a study abroad group from Alaska. It was recommended by my tour operator (Maya Holidays) when the hotel I had stayed in on previous vists was being renovated. The garden/courtyard area is lovely. the staff was very helpful when I needed copies and printers. The desk clerks speak English very well. Service was excellent. Due to the small size of the hotel, the desk clerks are able to remember your name and room number, and they do all they can to help you. One night I was very cold, and I asked for an extra blanket at about 2am. It was delivered very quickly. Laundry service was also exceptional. The location is fantastic, close (within walking distance) to several great restaurants and it is easy to find a taxi or take a bus. I highly recommend this hotel, without reservation.

We were originally at the Luz, and planned on leaving Merida to drive to Tuluum, but the approaching hurricane didnt allow us to do that. So were stuck in Merida without a hotel. We felt lucky to have found this hotel that had some rooms available. The room (2 full beds) was VERY small - didnt look as nice as the pics. Only 2 towels in the bathroom. Internet worked only sometimes. Breakfast was just okay - located in a small dining room downstairs. Get there early or you'll be limited because they dont replenish the food - when its gone, its gone. That fountain downstairs is REALLY noisy. I probably wouldnt stay there again ,unless of course I was running from a hurricane.
